Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor Green Cards in Arizona?
Several major defense contractors with a significant Arizona presence have histories of Green Card sponsorship, including Raytheon Missiles and Defense (headquartered in Tucson), Honeywell Aerospace (based in Phoenix), Boeing, General Dynamics, and L3Harris Technologies. Sponsorship decisions depend on the role, the candidate's qualifications, and internal headcount policies, so availability varies by position and timing.
Which cities in Arizona have the most aerospace and defense Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and Tucson account for the large majority of aerospace and defense employment in Arizona. Tucson is home to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, one of the state's largest defense employers. The Phoenix metro, including Tempe, Mesa, and Chandler, hosts Honeywell Aerospace, Boeing, and numerous defense suppliers. Smaller clusters of aerospace activity also exist in the East Valley around Williams Gateway Airport.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Arizona?
Roles that typically support Green Card sponsorship are those requiring specialized technical expertise, including systems engineers, electrical and mechanical engineers, software developers working on defense systems, propulsion specialists, avionics engineers, and program managers with advanced degrees. Positions involving security clearances can complicate sponsorship timelines, since Green Card holders can hold clearances but the adjudication process differs from that for U.S. citizens.
How do I find aerospace and defense Green Card sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate aggregates aerospace and defense jobs in Arizona that include Green Card sponsorship, letting you filter specifically by visa type and industry rather than manually screening hundreds of listings. Because sponsorship availability is not always prominently advertised, using Migrate Mate to surface pre-filtered aerospace and defense Green Card roles in Arizona saves significant time compared to general job searches.
Are there any Arizona-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in aerospace and defense?
Many Arizona aerospace and defense roles require access to classified programs, which can affect Green Card sponsorship timelines. Employers typically begin the PERM labor certification process while a candidate holds a valid nonimmigrant status such as H-1B. Arizona's concentration of missile systems and defense electronics work means some positions are subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations export control restrictions, which employers factor into sponsorship decisions for foreign nationals.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card aerospace & defense jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
