Which agriculture companies sponsor H-2A visas in Colorado?
Colorado's H-2A agricultural sponsors include large vegetable and potato growers in the San Luis Valley, fruit and orchard operations on the Western Slope near Grand Junction and Palisade, and grain and livestock farms across the Eastern Plains. Staffing associations such as the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union also help member farms file H-2A petitions. Sponsorship activity is concentrated among seasonal operations that cannot fill positions with local workers.
Which cities in Colorado have the most agriculture H-2A sponsorship jobs?
The highest concentration of H-2A agriculture jobs in Colorado appears in Monte Vista and Alamosa, which anchor the San Luis Valley's potato and lettuce industry. Greeley and Fort Morgan on the Eastern Plains support significant crop and livestock operations. Grand Junction and Palisade on the Western Slope generate H-2A demand for fruit harvesting and vineyard work, particularly from late summer through fall.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for H-2A sponsorship?
H-2A visas cover temporary or seasonal agricultural work, including crop planting, cultivating, and harvesting, as well as irrigation system operation, equipment operation for field crops, and packinghouse work directly tied to agricultural production. In Colorado, potato harvesting, apple and peach picking, onion and lettuce work, and grain farm labor are among the most common H-2A qualifying roles. The work must be seasonal and tied to a specific production cycle.
How do I find agriculture H-2A sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate lists H-2A agriculture jobs in Colorado filtered by visa type and industry, so you can browse active openings from Colorado employers who are actively sponsoring. Search by the Agriculture and Farming category and filter to Colorado to see positions in the San Luis Valley, Western Slope, and Eastern Plains. Because H-2A roles are seasonal, new listings appear frequently in late winter and spring ahead of planting and harvest cycles.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for H-2A agriculture sponsorship?
Colorado's high-altitude growing seasons are shorter than in lower-elevation states, which reinforces the genuinely seasonal nature of most H-2A roles here. Employers must provide free housing and transportation as required under federal H-2A rules, but Colorado's rural geography means housing is often located far from urban centers. Workers should also be aware that Colorado's water-rights system affects irrigation schedules, which can influence the exact start and end dates stated in the job order.
