Which companies sponsor visas for licensed practical nurses in Colorado?
Colorado's largest health systems are the most consistent sponsors for licensed practical nurses. UCHealth, Centura Health, SCL Health (now Intermountain Health), and HealthONE have all filed for foreign-born nursing staff through employment-based visa channels. Long-term care chains operating in the state, including Brookdale Senior Living and Life Care Services, also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for nursing sponsorships.
Which visa types are most common for licensed practical nurse roles in Colorado?
Most licensed practical nurse sponsorships in Colorado proceed through the EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa, which covers skilled and other workers. Because LPN roles typically require a diploma or associate degree rather than a bachelor's, they often fall under the EB-3 Other Worker subcategory. The employer must complete PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor before filing an immigrant petition. H-1B visa is generally not applicable to LPN roles since the position does not require a specialty occupation degree.
How to find licensed practical nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search licensed practical nurse openings in Colorado without sifting through postings that do not offer immigration support. The platform aggregates roles from health systems and long-term care employers across Denver, Colorado Springs, and smaller Colorado markets, letting you focus your applications on employers who have an established record of sponsoring LPNs.
Which cities in Colorado have the most licensed practical nurse sponsorship jobs?
Denver and its metro suburbs, including Aurora and Lakewood, account for the largest share of LPN openings in Colorado given the concentration of major hospital networks there. Colorado Springs is a secondary hub with a significant military and VA healthcare presence that generates LPN demand. Pueblo, Fort Collins, and Grand Junction each have regional medical centers that periodically sponsor internationally recruited nurses to address local workforce shortages.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for licensed practical nurses seeking visa sponsorship?
Licensed practical nurses must hold a valid Colorado LPN license issued by the Colorado State Board of Nursing before beginning work, and international nurses should account for credential evaluation and NCLEX-PN testing timelines when planning their move. Colorado is not part of the Nurse Licensure Compact as of 2025, meaning a license from another compact state does not automatically transfer. Employers in rural and frontier counties sometimes prioritize international recruitment more actively due to persistent staffing shortages in those areas.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored licensed practical nurse jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
