Which companies sponsor visas for corporate accountants in Florida?
Large multinationals and publicly traded companies headquartered in Florida are the most consistent sponsors for corporate accountant roles. Companies like World Fuel Services, Carnival Corporation, Ryder System, and Darden Restaurants have filed Labor Condition Applications for accounting positions in the past. Regional banks, insurance firms, and healthcare systems operating across South Florida and Tampa Bay also sponsor qualified candidates, particularly for roles requiring specialized financial reporting or consolidation experience.
Which visa types are most common for corporate accountant roles in Florida?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for corporate accountants in Florida, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Canadian and Mexican citizens may pursue the TN visa under the USMCA using an accountant classification, which does not require USCIS approval and can be obtained at a port of entry. Candidates with CPA credentials or graduate degrees strengthen their H-1B visa petition considerably.
Which cities in Florida have the most corporate accountant sponsorship jobs?
Miami is the primary hub, driven by its concentration of multinational corporations, Latin American regional headquarters, and international banking operations. Tampa has grown significantly as a financial services and insurance center, with firms like Raymond James and WellCare operating there. Orlando attracts accounting talent through its hospitality, healthcare, and technology sectors. Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville also generate sponsorship opportunities, particularly within logistics, healthcare systems, and regional corporate offices.
How to find corporate accountant visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter corporate accountant roles by state, so you can browse Florida-specific openings from employers already willing to sponsor. Because many Florida postings do not explicitly advertise sponsorship, using a platform that filters for it by default saves significant time. Focusing your search on Miami, Tampa, and Orlando will surface the highest concentration of relevant openings.
Are there any Florida-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for corporate accountants?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since employers benchmark compensation against local market rates rather than a high-tax state equivalent. Miami's bilingual accounting market, particularly for candidates fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, can make international hires more attractive to employers with Latin American operations. Florida's large university system, including the University of Florida and University of Miami, also creates a pipeline of international students on OPT who transition to employer-sponsored status in accounting roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored corporate accountant jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
