Which food and beverage companies in Florida sponsor Green Card visas?
Florida-based and Florida-operating employers with documented Green Card sponsorship activity in food and beverage include Darden Restaurants (headquartered in Orlando), Southeastern Grocers, Goya Foods' Florida distribution operations, and large hotel and resort food service operators along the Miami and Orlando corridors. Multi-unit restaurant groups and food manufacturing companies in the Tampa Bay area also appear in PERM labor certification filings.
Which cities in Florida have the most food and beverage Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Orlando leads due to its concentration of theme park resort food operations and Darden's headquarters. Miami follows closely, driven by its dense hospitality and restaurant industry and international food distribution companies. Tampa Bay has a notable food manufacturing and distribution base. Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale round out the list, particularly for supply chain, quality assurance, and food production roles at regional facilities.
What types of food and beverage roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Florida?
Roles most commonly sponsored through PERM labor certification in Florida's food and beverage sector include food scientists, quality assurance managers, research and development technicians, supply chain specialists, and corporate culinary professionals. Production supervisors and plant operations managers at manufacturing facilities also appear in filings. Roles requiring specialized technical education or demonstrable expertise in food safety, product development, or regulatory compliance tend to attract employer-sponsored pathways.
How do I find food and beverage Green Card sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate indexes food and beverage roles in Florida where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor Green Card visas, filtering out positions that only offer temporary work authorization. Searching Migrate Mate by industry and state lets you focus specifically on Florida food and beverage employers with active sponsorship histories, saving time compared to manually reviewing individual company career pages or public PERM disclosure data.
Are there Florida-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in food and beverage?
Florida's seasonal tourism economy means some food and beverage positions are cyclical, which can complicate the permanent employment requirement central to most Green Card categories. Employers sponsoring through PERM must demonstrate the position is a permanent, full-time role. Florida's high volume of hospitality and food service businesses also means prevailing wage determinations can vary significantly by region, affecting how employers structure sponsored positions in Miami versus smaller markets.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card food & beverage jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
