Which companies sponsor visas for events professionals in Georgia?
Georgia-based employers that have sponsored visas for events roles include Georgia World Congress Center Authority, Marriott International properties in Atlanta, Live Nation, SMG Worldwide (which manages State Farm Arena), and Hyatt hotels. Convention and hospitality groups operating in Atlanta's Midtown and downtown corridors tend to have more established HR infrastructure for sponsoring H-1B and other work visas than smaller independent event firms.
Which visa types are most common for events roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa for events roles that require a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, such as event management, marketing, or hospitality administration. O-1 visas occasionally apply to highly accomplished production specialists or creative directors. Candidates from Australia may consider the E-3, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify under TN status if their role fits an eligible occupation category.
Which cities in Georgia have the most events visa sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta concentrates the majority of events sponsorship opportunities in Georgia, driven by its major convention center, professional sports teams, and a dense hotel and hospitality sector. Savannah is a secondary market with a growing meetings and tourism industry, particularly around its historic district. Augusta draws events activity around The Masters golf tournament and its convention facilities, though sponsoring employers there are less common.
How to find events visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, making it a practical starting point for events roles in Georgia. You can filter by state and job category to surface positions at Atlanta convention venues, hotel groups, and entertainment companies that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. Reviewing an employer's past H-1B filings through public DOL disclosure data can also confirm sponsorship patterns before you apply.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for events professionals seeking visa sponsorship?
Georgia does not impose state-level work authorization requirements beyond federal visa rules, but events roles in Georgia are subject to Department of Labor prevailing wage standards, which vary by metropolitan area. Atlanta's Fulton and DeKalb County markets typically carry higher prevailing wages than rural Georgia counties. Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University produce hospitality and event management graduates, which means some employers already have pipelines familiar with OPT and H-1B sponsorship processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored events jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
