Which companies sponsor visas for licensed practical nurses in Georgia?
Piedmont Healthcare, Emory Healthcare, WellStar Health System, Grady Health System, and Augusta University Health are among Georgia's larger health systems with documented histories of sponsoring foreign national nursing staff. Long-term care operators and staffing agencies placing LPNs in skilled nursing facilities across the state also sponsor visas, particularly for candidates already holding valid U.S. work authorization through OPT or other categories.
Which visa types are most common for licensed practical nurse roles in Georgia?
The H-1B visa is generally not available for LPN roles because most LPN positions do not meet the specialty occupation requirement of a minimum bachelor's degree in a specific field. Most internationally trained LPNs working in Georgia secure authorization through EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship, which supports roles requiring at least two years of training, or through TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose scope of practice qualifies under that category.
Which cities in Georgia have the most licensed practical nurse sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta and its suburbs, including Marietta, Decatur, and Sandy Springs, represent the highest concentration of LPN sponsorship opportunities given the density of hospital systems and long-term care facilities. Augusta has significant demand driven by AU Health and the large veterans care population. Savannah and Columbus also show consistent LPN hiring activity, while rural counties across Middle and South Georgia face shortages that can make employers in those areas more open to sponsorship arrangements.
How to find licensed practical nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to search for LPN roles in Georgia without sorting through positions that do not offer sponsorship. You can filter by location to target cities like Atlanta, Augusta, or Savannah, and by role to surface licensed practical nurse postings from health systems, long-term care operators, and staffing firms actively seeking international candidates.
Are there state-specific licensing or credential requirements LPNs should know before pursuing Georgia sponsorship jobs?
Georgia requires LPN licensure through the Georgia Board of Nursing, and internationally trained nurses must have their credentials evaluated by a NCSBN-recognized credentialing organization before sitting for the NCLEX-PN. Employers initiating EB-3 sponsorship will typically require active Georgia LPN licensure or proof of eligibility before filing. The credentialing and licensing timeline can add several months to the overall process, so beginning that process early is important for candidates pursuing sponsored positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored licensed practical nurse jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
