Which companies in Idaho sponsor visas for solutions architects?
Micron Technology in Boise is one of Idaho's most active visa sponsors, given its large semiconductor and technology workforce. Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Clearwater Analytics, and Cradlepoint also operate in the Boise area and have sponsored H-1B visa workers in technical roles. Defense contractors and healthcare IT firms operating in Idaho occasionally sponsor solutions architects as well, though at lower volume than the major tech employers.
What visa types are most common for solutions architect roles in Idaho?
The H-1B is the most common visa for solutions architects in Idaho. The role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates with an Australian passport may have access to the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa, which covers computer systems analysts and similar roles without a lottery requirement.
How to find solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Idaho?
Migrate Mate filters solutions architect roles specifically by visa sponsorship history, so you can focus on Idaho employers who have actually filed for H-1B or other work visas rather than guessing from general job postings. Given that Idaho's sponsoring employer pool is smaller than major tech hubs, filtering by sponsorship history is especially useful here. Migrate Mate's Idaho solutions architect listings are a practical starting point for candidates navigating this market.
Which cities in Idaho have the most solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Boise accounts for the large majority of solutions architect sponsorship activity in Idaho. The Treasure Valley corridor, which includes Nampa and Meridian, has seen technology employer growth alongside Boise's expansion. Idaho Falls has some presence from energy and government-adjacent contractors. Outside the Boise metro, solutions architect sponsorship opportunities are limited, so most international candidates focus their search on the southwest region of the state.
Are there any Idaho-specific considerations for solutions architects seeking visa sponsorship?
Idaho does not have a state income tax on wages at the same rate as high-cost states, which affects prevailing wage calculations under Department of Labor guidelines. Solutions architect roles in Boise are benchmarked against local wage data, which tends to be lower than California or Washington figures, meaning employers must meet Idaho-specific prevailing wage levels for LCA compliance. Boise State University and the University of Idaho produce computer science graduates who compete for local roles, though the candidate pool for senior solutions architect positions remains relatively thin.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solutions architect jobs in Idaho?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
