Which companies sponsor visas for solutions architects in North Carolina?
Several large technology and enterprise companies in North Carolina have active histories of sponsoring work visas for solutions architects. Cisco, IBM, Red Hat, and Lenovo maintain significant operations in the Research Triangle area and have filed Labor Condition Applications for solutions architect roles. SAS Institute in Cary and financial technology firms in Charlotte are also active sponsors. Sponsorship decisions depend on individual role requirements and business need, not company size alone.
Which visa types are most common for solutions architect roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for solutions architects in North Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B status at multinational employers may transfer to North Carolina offices. Australian citizens have access to the E-3 visa, which follows a similar process to the H-1B visa but has no lottery.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Cary, concentrates the largest share of solutions architect sponsorship activity in North Carolina, driven by Research Triangle Park and the technology companies clustered around it. Charlotte is the second-largest market, with demand coming from financial services, fintech, and cloud infrastructure firms. Smaller but active markets include Morrisville, home to Lenovo's North American headquarters, and the broader Wake County corridor.
How to find solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse solutions architect roles in North Carolina without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location, filtering for cities like Raleigh, Charlotte, or Cary where sponsorship activity is highest. Because solutions architect roles at established technology companies are among the more commonly sponsored positions in the state, new listings appear regularly.
Are there any North Carolina-specific factors that affect solutions architect visa sponsorship?
North Carolina's Department of Commerce designates Research Triangle Park as a major technology hub, which has attracted federal investment and enterprise expansion that sustains sponsorship demand. The presence of strong computer science programs at NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke University creates a local talent pipeline, but these universities also generate international graduates who pursue sponsorship. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the relevant occupation and geographic area.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solutions architect jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
