ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Data Solutions Architect, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our data capabilities and our clients' technical and business requirements. You will engage directly with customers and internal teams to design scalable, AI-ready data solutions, validate that what's promised can actually be delivered, and ensure every engagement is built on a foundation that holds up long after the deal closes. Your expertise in data architecture, data analysis, and cross-functional translation will be essential in driving customer satisfaction and long-term account growth.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to conduct technical discovery, determining the right data structure and solution design for each customer's specific use case
- Serve as the primary technical representative for solution design, working closely with prospects and existing clients to map data flow from source to every downstream system
- Architect AI-ready data layers — structuring, documenting, and governing data so it can be reliably consumed by AI agents, LLMs, and automated workflows, not just traditional reporting and CRM use cases
- Analyze data sets to validate volumes and quality at multiple stages of a solution — what's contractually committed, what's technically achievable, and what's usable — to close gaps before they become customer issues
- Design and document data matching and entity resolution approaches, reviewing results for accuracy and completeness
- Leverage AI tools, large language models, and emerging protocols like MCP (Model Context Protocol) to accelerate data exploration, documentation, and solution design
- Establish and maintain a consistent framework for data documentation, technical discovery, and solution architecture that can be used across the sales and delivery organization
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and workshops to both technical and executive stakeholders, translating complex data architecture into clear business value
- Stay proactively engaged throughout the sales and delivery cycle, flagging scope or coverage gaps early rather than after a deal has closed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, solutions engineering, or a similar technical customer-facing role, preferably within the SaaS industry
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to query, interpret, and validate large datasets; working SQL knowledge is helpful but increasingly augmented by AI-assisted tooling
- Familiarity with LLMs and AI-assisted workflows (e.g., AI query/analysis copilots, MCP-based tooling) for data exploration and solution development
- Experience or strong conceptual understanding of AI-ready data layer solutioning — designing data models, schemas, and pipelines that support AI agents and automated decisioning, not just traditional BI/reporting
- Familiarity with data integration methods (APIs, flat files, direct system integrations) and common downstream platforms such as CRM, marketing automation, and data warehouses
- Excellent presentation skills, with a track record of successfully engaging both technical and executive-level stakeholders
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams
- Ability to establish structure, process, and direction, helping customers navigate technical uncertainty and move confidently forward
- The ability to connect foundational GTM data strategy to AI infrastructure outcomes across the full revenue organization
- Experience with ZoomInfo products or comparable go-to-market platforms is a plus
- Broad range of experience within large-scale database and/or data warehouse technology and analytics is a plus but not required

Which companies in Massachusetts sponsor visas for solutions architects?
Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Salesforce, Oracle, and HubSpot have all sponsored visas for solutions architect roles in Massachusetts based on Department of Labor LCA disclosure data. MathWorks in Natick and Akamai Technologies in Cambridge are also consistent sponsors. Financial services firms like Fidelity Investments and State Street also hire solutions architects and have established visa sponsorship programs.
Which visa types are most common for solutions architect roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for solutions architects in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA treaty. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is available year-round.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Greater Boston, including Cambridge, Waltham, and Burlington, accounts for the majority of solutions architect sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts. Cambridge hosts major tech and cloud employers near Kendall Square. Waltham and Burlington form the Route 128 tech corridor, where enterprise software and networking companies have long maintained large engineering and technical sales operations. Worcester has a smaller but growing tech presence.
How to find solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for employers willing to sponsor visas, so you can search solutions architect roles in Massachusetts without sifting through postings that exclude international candidates. The platform is designed for this audience and shows roles where sponsorship has been confirmed or is indicated by the employer. Filtering by Massachusetts and the solutions architect role type narrows results to the most relevant opportunities in the state.
Are there state-specific considerations for solutions architects seeking sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for solutions architect roles, which are benchmarked to the Boston metropolitan area and tend to reflect the region's competitive tech market. The state's concentration of universities, including MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern, creates a strong local pipeline of international graduates on OPT who often transition into sponsored roles at Massachusetts-based employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solutions architect jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
