Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor E-3 visas in Illinois?
Illinois is home to several large distribution and wholesale employers with documented E-3 and H-1B visa sponsorship history, including W.W. Grainger (Lake Forest), U.S. Foods (Rosemont), and Dot Foods (regional operations). Mid-size wholesale distributors in the Chicago metro area also sponsor specialty occupation roles in supply chain, procurement, and logistics planning. Reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application filings through OFLC records helps identify which employers have actively filed for Australian nationals.
Which cities in Illinois have the most distribution and wholesale E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Chicago and its surrounding suburbs account for the largest concentration of distribution and wholesale E-3 opportunities in Illinois. Submarkets including Rosemont, Elk Grove Village, Carol Stream, and Joliet sit along major freight corridors and house significant warehouse and distribution infrastructure. Smaller pockets of wholesale activity exist in Rockford and Peoria, though specialty occupation roles qualifying for E-3 sponsorship are far more common in the greater Chicago area.
How do I find distribution and wholesale E-3 sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for E-3-sponsoring employers in the distribution and wholesale sector across Illinois, showing verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history so you can see which companies have sponsored specialty occupation roles before. This is more targeted than general job searches because it surfaces employers with a demonstrated track record of E-3 filings, which matters when you're an Australian national looking for confirmed sponsorship.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Illinois?
E-3 sponsorship applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In distribution and wholesale, roles that commonly meet this standard include supply chain analyst, procurement manager, logistics operations manager, demand planning analyst, and inventory control analyst. General warehouse operations or driver roles typically do not qualify. The employer must confirm the position meets the specialty occupation definition and file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before you apply.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in distribution and wholesale?
Illinois does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal E-3 rules, but the scale of Chicago's logistics sector means prevailing wage benchmarks for supply chain and wholesale roles are set against a competitive metropolitan labor market. Employers must pay the prevailing wage as determined through the OFLC Wage Search for the specific occupation and Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metropolitan area. Illinois also has active E-Verify usage among large distribution employers, which aligns with standard federal employment eligibility verification practices.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 distribution & wholesale jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
