Which companies sponsor visas for nursing assistants in Indiana?
The largest sponsors of nursing assistant roles in Indiana tend to be major health systems and long-term care networks. Indiana University Health, Franciscan Health, Ascension St. Vincent, and Community Health Network operate facilities across the state and have histories of sponsoring internationally trained healthcare workers. Staffing agencies that specialize in healthcare placements also work with Indiana facilities to place sponsored candidates in certified nursing assistant positions.
Which visa types are most common for nursing assistant roles in Indiana?
The H-1B visa is not typically used for nursing assistant roles because CNAs generally do not require a bachelor's degree in a specific specialty field, which is a core H-1B requirement. More common pathways include the EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa, which covers skilled and unskilled workers, and the H-2B visa for temporary non-agricultural roles in some cases. Some internationally trained nurses working at the CNA level pursue immigrant visa sponsorship through PERM labor certification filed by their employer.
Which cities in Indiana have the most nursing assistant sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the largest share of nursing assistant openings in Indiana, driven by the concentration of major hospital systems and long-term care facilities in the metro area. Fort Wayne and South Bend are secondary hubs with active healthcare employers. Smaller cities including Evansville, Bloomington, and Lafayette also have ongoing demand, particularly in skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers that face consistent staffing shortages.
How to find nursing assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is a job board specifically built for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter by state and role to surface nursing assistant positions in Indiana where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because CNA sponsorship often happens through long-term care networks and regional health systems rather than large national employers, using a focused tool like Migrate Mate helps surface opportunities that general job boards may not prioritize for international applicants.
Are there state-specific considerations for nursing assistants seeking sponsorship in Indiana?
Indiana requires CNAs to hold active state certification through the Indiana State Department of Health, and international candidates must ensure their credentials are recognized or validated before beginning work. Indiana's long-term care sector has experienced persistent staffing shortages, which increases employer motivation to sponsor qualified candidates. The state's healthcare workforce is also supported by training pipelines through Ivy Tech Community College and Vincennes University, though international applicants typically enter through employer-sponsored pathways rather than academic programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing assistant jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
