Which companies sponsor visas for compliance associates in Iowa?
Principal Financial Group, Nationwide, and Transamerica are among the most active sponsors for compliance roles in Des Moines, given their large regulatory and legal departments. Wells Fargo and Corteva Agriscience also have Iowa operations with compliance functions that have historically supported H-1B sponsorship. Sponsorship availability varies by position, hiring cycle, and individual employer policy, so confirming directly with employers is always advisable.
Which visa types are most common for compliance associate roles in Iowa?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for compliance associates in Iowa, as roles requiring a bachelor's degree in law, finance, accounting, or a related field typically qualify as specialty occupations. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT, particularly graduates of Iowa State University or University of Iowa, sometimes transition into compliance roles before pursuing H-1B sponsorship through their employer.
Which cities in Iowa have the most compliance associate sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines is by far Iowa's largest market for compliance associate positions, driven by its concentration of insurance carriers, financial institutions, and asset managers. Cedar Rapids has a secondary market, particularly in manufacturing compliance and financial services. Iowa City sees some activity tied to the University of Iowa health system and affiliated organizations. Outside these three cities, sponsored compliance roles are uncommon.
How to find compliance associate visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, making it a practical starting point for compliance associate roles in Iowa. You can filter by state and role to surface employers in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and beyond who have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because compliance hiring is often tied to regulatory cycles, checking Migrate Mate regularly helps you catch new postings from financial services and insurance employers as they open.
Are there state-specific considerations for compliance associate sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa's compliance hiring is heavily shaped by its insurance and financial services concentration, meaning prevailing wage determinations for H-1B petitions will reflect Des Moines metro rates rather than coastal benchmarks. University of Iowa and Iowa State University produce graduates in finance and accounting who enter compliance pipelines, creating some competition for sponsored roles. Employers in Iowa's agribusiness sector, including companies like POET and Corteva, also hire compliance staff with occasionally different regulatory backgrounds than pure financial compliance.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored compliance associate jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
