Which agriculture companies sponsor H-2A visas in Kansas?
Kansas H-2A sponsorship is concentrated among large-scale grain farms, cattle feedlots, and crop production operations. Employers in southwest Kansas, including operations around Dodge City and Garden City, regularly file H-2A applications with DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification. Fruit and vegetable farms in central and eastern Kansas also participate, particularly during planting and harvest seasons. Sponsoring employers must hold a certified labor condition application before workers can enter the country.
Which cities in Kansas have the most agriculture H-2A sponsorship jobs?
Southwest Kansas sees the highest concentration of H-2A agriculture jobs, with Garden City, Dodge City, and Liberal serving as hubs for both livestock and crop operations. Liberal-area farms frequently sponsor H-2A workers for wheat and corn harvests. In central Kansas, towns like Salina and Hutchinson also have active farming operations. The High Plains region along the Colorado border is particularly active for feedlot and irrigated crop work requiring seasonal labor.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for H-2A sponsorship?
H-2A sponsorship covers temporary or seasonal agricultural work performed on farms, ranches, and feedlots. In Kansas, qualifying roles typically include grain harvesting equipment operators, irrigation workers, crop planters, livestock handlers, and general farmworkers. The work must be tied to a defined season or temporary peak demand. Year-round permanent positions generally do not qualify. Employers must demonstrate that insufficient U.S. workers are available before USCIS approves H-2A petitions for these roles.
How do I find agriculture H-2A sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate lists verified H-2A agriculture jobs in Kansas, filtered by employer sponsorship history and role type, so you can identify operations actively hiring foreign workers. You can search by county or crop type to narrow results to relevant Kansas farm employers. Migrate Mate draws on DOL labor condition application data, showing which Kansas agriculture employers have a documented track record of H-2A sponsorship rather than relying on unverified job postings.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-2A agriculture work in Kansas?
Kansas H-2A workers are subject to federal H-2A rules, but the state's agricultural calendar shapes when sponsorship opportunities arise. The winter wheat harvest typically runs May through July, while corn and sorghum harvests occur in the fall. Kansas also has significant livestock and feedlot operations that may have different seasonal cycles. Workers should confirm with employers whether housing and transportation are provided, as H-2A rules require employers to offer free housing or a housing allowance to qualifying workers.
