Which companies sponsor visas for licensed practical nurses in Kansas?
The largest sponsors of licensed practical nurses in Kansas include The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, and Ascension Via Christi facilities across Wichita. Long-term care operators such as Midwest Health and regional nursing home networks also sponsor LPNs, particularly for EB-3 immigrant visas, given the persistent staffing shortages in rural and suburban Kansas counties.
Which visa types are most common for licensed practical nurse roles in Kansas?
The EB-3 (skilled worker) immigrant visa is the most common pathway for internationally trained LPNs in Kansas because the role is classified under the skilled worker category. Employers typically file a PERM labor certification before sponsoring an EB-3 petition. Some LPNs enter on H-1B visas if the employer can justify specialty occupation status, though EB-3 remains the standard route for this role.
Which cities in Kansas have the most licensed practical nurse sponsorship jobs?
Wichita accounts for the largest share of LPN sponsorship activity in Kansas, driven by its concentration of hospital networks and long-term care facilities. Topeka and Kansas City (Kansas side) are the next most active markets. Rural areas including Salina, Dodge City, and Garden City also see LPN sponsorship from critical access hospitals and federally qualified health centers addressing workforce gaps.
How to find licensed practical nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to find licensed practical nurse roles in Kansas where employers are actively willing to sponsor. You can filter by state and role to surface relevant openings from health systems, long-term care operators, and rural hospitals across the state, rather than sorting through listings that don't mention sponsorship at all.
Are there state-specific considerations for LPN visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas requires LPNs to hold an active license from the Kansas State Board of Nursing, which involves passing the NCLEX-PN examination. International nurses credentialed outside the U.S. must typically go through a credentials evaluation body before applying for Kansas licensure. Some Kansas employers factor in the time and cost of license endorsement when assessing international candidates, so confirming licensure eligibility early in the process is important.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored licensed practical nurse jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
