Which companies sponsor visas for licensed practical nurses in Nevada?
Hospital systems with large Nevada footprints are the most consistent LPN sponsors. HCA Healthcare operates several facilities in the Las Vegas metro, and Valley Health System and Sunrise Hospital regularly hire clinical staff. In northern Nevada, Renown Health in Reno is a notable employer. Long-term care networks and rehabilitation facilities also sponsor LPNs, particularly in underserved areas where domestic staffing shortages are most acute.
Which visa types are most common for licensed practical nurse roles in Nevada?
The EB-3 immigrant visa is the most common pathway for foreign-born LPNs in Nevada, as the role is classified as a skilled worker position under that category. H-1B visas are rarely used for LPN roles because the position does not consistently meet the specialty occupation standard. Some employers work with staffing agencies that file EB-3 petitions directly, though permanent employment is typically required for sponsorship.
Which cities in Nevada have the most licensed practical nurse sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas accounts for the large majority of LPN sponsorship activity in Nevada, driven by its dense concentration of hospitals, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities serving a fast-growing population. Reno is the second most active market, anchored by Renown Health and a network of regional medical providers. Smaller communities like Henderson and North Las Vegas also see LPN hiring, and rural Nevada counties periodically offer sponsorship through federally qualified health centers.
How to find licensed practical nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters LPN roles in Nevada by visa sponsorship status, so you're only seeing positions where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. Because LPN sponsorship typically involves the EB-3 pathway rather than H-1B, look for postings that reference permanent placement or green card support. Migrate Mate allows you to narrow your search by state and role, making it straightforward to identify active Nevada LPN openings.
Are there any Nevada-specific considerations for licensed practical nurses seeking visa sponsorship?
Nevada requires LPNs to hold a license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing before practicing, so international candidates must have their foreign nursing credentials evaluated and meet NCLEX-PN requirements. Nevada participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact, which can simplify interstate practice but does not affect the visa process itself. Rural Nevada employers, particularly those in federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas, may have stronger sponsorship incentives due to persistent recruitment challenges.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored licensed practical nurse jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
