Which investment management companies sponsor H-1B visas in Kentucky?
Louisville-based firms with histories of H-1B sponsorship in financial services include Hilliard Lyons, PNC Wealth Management, and Stock Yards Financial Group. Larger institutions with Kentucky operations, such as JPMorgan's regional offices and insurance-linked asset managers, also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data. Sponsorship activity tends to concentrate among mid-size to large firms managing institutional or high-net-worth portfolios.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the majority of investment management H-1B sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by its concentration of wealth management firms, insurance company investment arms, and regional bank trust departments. Lexington is a secondary market with a smaller but active financial services presence. Other Kentucky cities have limited investment management infrastructure and generate comparatively few H-1B sponsorship opportunities in this sector.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that commonly qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B include portfolio analysts, equity research analysts, quantitative analysts, fixed income specialists, and institutional relationship managers. These positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field as a baseline requirement for entry. Generalist sales or administrative roles within investment firms are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for this search, letting you filter investment management roles by visa type and state so you can identify Kentucky employers actively sponsoring H-1B workers. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in job postings, using a platform that cross-references Department of Labor LCA filings with active listings significantly narrows your search to employers with a verifiable sponsorship track record in this industry.
Are there any Kentucky-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in investment management?
Kentucky does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment, so the federal process governs entirely. However, investment management roles at firms registered with the SEC or FINRA may require candidates to obtain professional licenses such as the Series 65, which must be pursued after employment begins and are separate from the H-1B petition. Employers in Kentucky's smaller market may also have less internal HR infrastructure for managing sponsorship compared to firms in major financial hubs.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B investment management jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
