Which investment management companies sponsor H-1B visas in Colorado?
Several established firms with Colorado operations have H-1B sponsorship histories, including Janus Henderson Investors, Charles Schwab, Vanguard, and Empower Retirement, all of which are headquartered or have major offices in the Denver metro area. Larger asset managers and registered investment advisers with institutional clients tend to sponsor more consistently than smaller boutique firms, given the administrative infrastructure H-1B petitions require.
Which cities in Colorado have the most investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the overwhelming majority of investment management H-1B sponsorship activity in Colorado, particularly in the downtown financial district and the surrounding tech corridor. Greenwood Village, a suburb south of Denver, hosts several major financial services firms including Empower Retirement's headquarters. Boulder has a smaller but active presence in quantitative finance and fintech-adjacent roles. Colorado Springs has limited investment management activity by comparison.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the position. In investment management, this commonly includes portfolio analysts, quantitative researchers, risk analysts, and financial engineers where degrees in finance, economics, mathematics, or computer science are standard requirements. General relationship management or sales-oriented roles may face more scrutiny if the degree requirement is not specific to the field.
How do I find investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, allowing you to filter by visa type, industry, and state to surface Colorado investment management roles where employers have indicated H-1B sponsorship. Rather than sifting through general job boards and guessing at sponsorship willingness, Migrate Mate focuses the results on verified sponsoring employers, which is particularly useful in a specialized sector like asset and investment management where not every firm sponsors.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in investment management?
Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires employers to disclose compensation ranges in job postings, which gives H-1B applicants useful context when assessing whether an offered wage meets the prevailing wage standards required for the Labor Condition Application. Employers filing H-1B petitions for Colorado-based positions must certify wages meet Department of Labor prevailing wage levels for the Denver or relevant metro area, not a national average, so local wage data directly affects the LCA compliance process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B investment management jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
