Which investment management companies sponsor H-1B visas in Washington?
Several Washington-based firms have a documented history of H-1B visa sponsorship in investment management. Russell Investments, headquartered in Seattle, regularly sponsors international workers for research and portfolio roles. Parametric Portfolio Associates, WestRiver Group, and Fisher Investments' Washington operations have also appeared in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data. Larger banks and wealth management divisions operating in Seattle, such as JPMorgan and Wells Fargo Advisors, sponsor H-1B roles as well.
Which cities in Washington have the most investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Seattle is by far the primary hub for investment management H-1B sponsorship in Washington, home to the headquarters of several asset managers and the regional offices of major financial institutions. Bellevue, directly across Lake Washington, hosts a growing number of financial services firms and private equity operations. Tacoma and Spokane have smaller concentrations, but the overwhelming majority of H-1B-sponsored investment roles are in the Seattle-Bellevue metro area.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in investment management is most common for roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field as a standard industry requirement. Quantitative analysts, portfolio analysts, risk analysts, equity research associates, and financial engineers are frequently sponsored. Roles requiring advanced degrees in finance, economics, mathematics, or computer science are particularly well-suited. General relationship management or sales positions without a degree-specific requirement are less likely to qualify as specialty occupations.
How do I find investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters investment management roles in Washington that are open to H-1B sponsorship. Rather than manually searching general job boards and guessing which employers sponsor, Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsorship-friendly postings in one place. You can filter by industry, visa type, and state to focus specifically on Washington investment management opportunities, saving significant time during what is often a high-pressure job search.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in investment management?
Washington state has no personal income tax, which affects how compensation packages are structured compared to other financial hubs, though this has no direct impact on H-1B eligibility. More relevant is that Washington's investment management sector is smaller than New York or California, so the number of H-1B-sponsoring employers is more concentrated. Competition for sponsored roles at firms like Russell Investments can be high, and many smaller registered investment advisors in the state do not have prior H-1B sponsorship experience.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B investment management jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
