- Build and manage a territory plan that drives face-to-face prospecting and scheduled onsite sales calls to obtain new customer orders and contracts.
- Customarily and regularly travel within the assigned territory to conduct onsite discovery and solution presentations at customer/prospect locations.
- Lead full-cycle deal execution including solution positioning, proposal development, commercial alignment, and negotiation with customer decision makers to close new business agreements.
- Partner with specialists and pre-sales teams to shape solution architecture and validate value propositions while maintaining ownership of the sales strategy and closing process.
- Maintain accurate CRM data on stages, next steps, and forecasts to support sales governance.
- Prepare detailed post-sale handoffs to Customer Success for smooth onboarding and early adoption.
- Meet or exceed established performance goals for pipeline generation, new customer acquisition, and sales revenue.

- Proven skills in face-to-face discovery, proposal development, and negotiation within structured sales processes.
- Strong CRM and forecasting proficiency (e.g., Salesforce).
- Ability to customarily and regularly travel within the assigned territory for in person customer/prospect meetings and field-based selling.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for daily field travel.

Search Business Development Executive Jobs in LouisianaBusiness Development Executive Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for business development executives in Louisiana?
Energy and industrial companies are the most active sponsors for business development executives in Louisiana. Entergy, Shell's Gulf Coast operations, and Turner Industries have filed Labor Condition Applications for senior business development roles. New Orleans-based technology and professional services firms, including those in the growing Baton Rouge tech corridor, also sponsor H-1B visa petitions for candidates with specialized industry expertise and a qualifying degree.
Which visa types are most common for business development executive roles in Louisiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development executives in Louisiana, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration, marketing, or a technical discipline relevant to the employer's industry. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may qualify for the O-1 visa. Intracompany transferees at multinational energy or logistics firms may use the L-1A for managerial roles.
Which cities in Louisiana have the most business development executive sponsorship jobs?
New Orleans generates the highest volume of business development executive sponsorship activity in Louisiana, driven by its maritime, hospitality technology, and professional services sectors. Baton Rouge follows, with petrochemical, government contracting, and healthcare firms regularly hiring at the executive level. Lafayette serves as a secondary hub tied to the oilfield services industry, where companies periodically sponsor international talent for client-facing business development positions.
How to find business development executive visa sponsorship jobs in Louisiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by role and state to surface business development executive positions in Louisiana where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to manually screening postings. Focusing on New Orleans and Baton Rouge employers in energy, technology, and professional services will yield the most relevant results for sponsored roles at the executive level.
What should international candidates know about pursuing business development executive roles in Louisiana?
Business development executive positions must qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B standards, meaning the role needs to demonstrably require a specific bachelor's degree or higher, not just any degree. Louisiana's energy and industrial sectors often have clearly defined degree requirements tied to technical sales or engineering backgrounds, which strengthens petitions. Prevailing wage determinations are based on the specific metropolitan area, so New Orleans and Baton Rouge roles may carry different wage-level requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development executive jobs in Louisiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
