Job Description:
The Southern Review Project Coordinator supports special publishing projects and daily operations for The Southern Review in partnership with LSU Press. Responsibilities include digitizing legacy contracts, assisting with the development and coordination of anthology projects, securing permissions, supporting editors with administrative tasks, and proofreading issues while participating in quarterly proof meetings.
This is a term-limited position funded through non-permanent resources. Employment is contingent upon the continued availability of funding and institutional need. Although appointments are issued for a specified term, employment will terminate prior to the end of the specified term if funding for the position is reduced or discontinued. While not guaranteed, the department currently anticipates that funding for this position may be available for approximately three to five years.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Digitization of Contracts and Agreements: Digitize all legacy TSR contributor agreements and LSU Press contracts that have not yet been converted to electronic files. This includes scanning, labeling, organizing, and archiving paper documents dating from 1935 to the present to create a comprehensive and searchable digital record. 20%

Anthology Development and Coordination: Develop familiarity with the full run of TSR, including authors, genres, and subject areas. Compile and organize tables of contents for potential anthologies; solicit input and approval from TSR editors and the TSR publisher/LSU Press director. In consultation with TSR editors and the TSR publisher/LSU Press director, identify and contact prospective contributors for anthology introductions; secure necessary permissions; and coordinate with the LSU Press acquisitions department regarding final manuscript preparation and submission. 50%

Editorial and Administrative Support for TSR: Provide administrative and clerical support to the editors of TSR. Responsibilities include handling incoming and outgoing mail, coordinating shipments, printing and distributing materials, corresponding with authors as directed, maintaining files, and assisting with other operational tasks as needed in coordination with the TSR editors. 20%

Proof Review and Production Support: Review page proofs for each quarterly issue of TSR prior to publication. Identify and document typographical errors, formatting inconsistencies, and other production issues; attend quarterly proof meetings to provide feedback and collaborate with editors on final revisions. Perform related duties and other responsibilities as assigned. 10%

Bachelor's degree
