This leader will own the product vision and roadmap for agentic capabilities across the organization. They will help shape our internal agentic capabilities (tooling, orchestration layers, data interfaces, evaluation frameworks) while also identifying, evaluating, and onboarding external tools and partners that extend our platform.
Working across machine learning, research, preclinical, clinical, engineering, and operations teams, this role will translate scientific workflows into scalable agentic systems that enhance decision-making, automate complexity, and unlock scientific velocity.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role at the intersection of AI, platform strategy, and therapeutic innovation.
You will work onsite in our Somerville, MA.
Here's how you will contribute:
Advance the agentic science vision:
- Build on and evolve the product strategy for Generate’s agentic platform across the full drug discovery lifecycle

- Translate company goals into measurable product outcomes tied to scientific productivity, cycle time, and data leverage.
Expand and scale Generate’s internal agentic science infrastructure:
-
Partner with Engineering and Scientific teams to build core agentic infrastructure:
-
Tool orchestration frameworks

Workflow automation layers
-
Agent evaluation and benchmarking systems
-
Interfaces into biological data platforms
-
Establish principles for agent reliability, validation, governance, and safety in scientific contexts in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Develop the external ecosystem strategy:
- Map the external landscape of agentic tools, AI copilots, workflow automation platforms, and scientific AI startups.
- Identify build vs. buy vs. partner opportunities.
- Lead evaluation, pilot programs, onboarding, and integration of external tools and partners.
Drive cross-functional adoption:
- Work deeply with scientists across early discovery and clinical development to embed agentic solutions into real workflows.
- Run continuous discovery efforts to identify friction points and opportunity spaces.
- Influence change management, innovation and drive adoption of new capabilities.
Lead end-to-end product execution:
- Own roadmap prioritization and define success metrics and feedback loops for agentic performance and impact.
- Communicate progress, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly to executive stakeholders.
- Continuously refine product development processes to match the speed of AI innovation.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- 7+ years of product management experience, ideally including platform or AI-enabled products.
- Experience working in fast paced, constantly evolving environments within biotech, pharma, and/or tech.
- Strong understanding of and hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents and evaluation methods.
- Hands on experience with continuous discovery, user research, and prototype development for validating both problems and solutions.
- Strong external orientation - aware of the fast-evolving AI and scientific tooling landscape.
- Track record of influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Excellent communication skills - able to bridge scientists, engineers, and executives.
- Ability to foster an inclusive, collaborative environment and build relationships and trust with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in computational sciences, applied mathematics, life sciences, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
Who Will Love This Job:
This role is perfect for someone excited to build AI-native scientific infrastructure that reshapes how drug discovery is done. You think in platforms and ecosystems, thrive in ambiguity, and enjoy translating complex scientific workflows into scalable, agentic systems. If you’re motivated by defining what agentic science looks like inside a modern biotech - and building it from the ground up - you’ll love this role.

Which companies sponsor visas for director, product management roles in Massachusetts?
Several large employers in Massachusetts have established records of sponsoring visas for senior product roles. HubSpot, Wayfair, Fidelity Investments, athenahealth, Rapid7, and Biogen have all filed Labor Condition Applications for product management positions. Enterprise software, biotech, and financial services companies tend to have dedicated immigration support teams, making them more likely to sponsor at the director level than early-stage startups.
Which visa types are most common for director, product management roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for director, product management roles in Massachusetts, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary achievement. Australians may qualify for the E-3, and Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore the TN visa under the engineer or management consultant category where applicable.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most director, product management sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the overwhelming majority of director, product management sponsorship opportunities in Massachusetts. The Seaport District and Kendall Square in Cambridge are particularly concentrated with tech and biotech employers. Waltham and Burlington also host significant product leadership roles, particularly from mid-size enterprise software and life sciences companies that have established suburban campuses along Route 128.
How to find director, product management visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it easier to identify director, product management roles in Massachusetts where employers are open to sponsoring international candidates. Rather than sorting through general job boards and guessing at sponsorship willingness, Migrate Mate surfaces positions from companies with active sponsorship histories, saving significant time for senior product professionals at this stage of their search.
Are there any state-specific considerations for director, product management visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications must meet prevailing wage requirements set by the Department of Labor for the Boston-Cambridge metropolitan area, which reflects the region's high cost of living. The state's dense university ecosystem, including MIT, Harvard, and Northeastern, creates a strong pipeline of international talent, meaning many Massachusetts employers already have immigration infrastructure in place for sponsoring senior hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director, product management jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
