Which investment management companies sponsor Green Card visas in Massachusetts?
Boston-based firms with established immigration programs include Fidelity Investments, State Street Global Advisors, Wellington Management, Putnam Investments, and MFS Investment Management. Hedge funds and private equity firms concentrated in Boston's Financial District, including Acadian Asset Management and Affiliated Managers Group, also sponsor Green Cards for specialized investment roles. Larger firms tend to have dedicated HR teams and outside immigration counsel to manage the multi-year sponsorship process.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most investment management Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Boston is by far the primary hub, concentrating the majority of investment management Green Card sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts, particularly in the Financial District and Back Bay neighborhoods. Cambridge has a smaller but active presence, driven by quantitative and research-focused firms. Waltham and Burlington along the Route 128 corridor also host mid-sized asset managers. Springfield and Worcester have limited investment management activity compared to Greater Boston.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Roles requiring advanced technical or specialized expertise are most commonly sponsored. These include portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, risk analysts, fixed income researchers, derivatives specialists, and compliance officers with subject-matter expertise in securities regulation. Positions requiring a master's degree or CFA qualification in a specific discipline are strong candidates for EB-2 sponsorship. Junior generalist roles are less frequently sponsored due to lower specialization thresholds.
How do I find investment management Green Card sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type and industry, making it straightforward to browse investment management roles in Massachusetts where employers are actively sponsoring Green Cards. Rather than sorting through unfiltered postings, you can search directly for positions where sponsorship is confirmed. Migrate Mate also provides immigration context alongside listings, which is useful when evaluating whether a specific role and employer align with Green Card eligibility.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in Massachusetts investment management?
Massachusetts does not impose state-level immigration requirements beyond federal standards, but the investment management industry has some sector-specific factors. FINRA licensing requirements and SEC registration obligations can affect role eligibility and timing. Many Boston-area firms use EB-2 sponsorship for roles requiring advanced degrees in finance, economics, or mathematics. The PERM labor market test requires employers to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available, which can be more complex in a competitive hiring market like Boston.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card investment management jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
