Which renewable energy companies in Massachusetts sponsor Green Card visas?
Avangrid Renewables, Eversource Energy, National Grid, and Vineyard Wind are among the Massachusetts employers with documented Green Card sponsorship activity in the renewable energy sector. Larger utilities and offshore wind developers are more likely to have in-house immigration support and established PERM sponsorship pathways than smaller firms. Checking DOL PERM disclosure data by employer name is the most reliable way to confirm a company's sponsorship history.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most renewable energy Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Boston is the dominant hub, home to corporate offices for major utilities and offshore wind developers. New Bedford has emerged as a significant center for offshore wind operations and supply chain roles tied to the Vineyard Wind and SouthCoast Wind projects. Worcester and Cambridge also host renewable energy employers, particularly in energy storage, grid technology, and clean energy research roles connected to area universities and national labs.
How do I find renewable energy Green Card sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters Massachusetts renewable energy jobs specifically by Green Card sponsorship, pulling from verified DOL Labor Condition Application and PERM filing data so you can see which employers have an active sponsorship track record. Searching by employer PERM history is more reliable than relying on job posting language alone, since many companies sponsor without advertising it explicitly in their listings.
What types of renewable energy roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Roles that consistently qualify include electrical and mechanical engineers specializing in wind or solar systems, power systems analysts, environmental permitting specialists, offshore wind project managers, and energy storage engineers. These positions generally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, which satisfies the specialty occupation standard that supports both H-1B visa status and eventual PERM-based Green Card sponsorship. Technician-level roles without degree requirements qualify less frequently.
Are there Massachusetts-specific factors that affect Green Card sponsorship in renewable energy?
Massachusetts has some of the most active state-level clean energy mandates in the country, including binding offshore wind procurement targets, which sustains employer demand for specialized talent and strengthens the case for long-term sponsorship investments. The state's prevailing wage requirements under the DOL PERM process apply nationally, but Massachusetts wage levels for engineering and technical roles tend to be higher than the national median, which affects the prevailing wage determination employers must meet.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card renewable energy jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
