Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Massachusetts?
Major Massachusetts health systems with established Green Card sponsorship track records include Mass General Brigham, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and UMass Memorial Health. Academic medical centers and large hospital networks are generally more experienced with employment-based sponsorship than smaller community practices, given their dedicated HR and legal infrastructure.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Greater Boston concentrates the highest volume of healthcare Green Card sponsorship opportunities, driven by its density of academic medical centers and research hospitals. Worcester is the second-largest hub, home to UMass Memorial Health and Saint Vincent Hospital. Springfield, Lowell, and Burlington also have active healthcare hiring, particularly within large regional health systems that regularly sponsor international clinical staff.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Physicians, surgeons, and specialist clinicians are most commonly sponsored under EB-1 or EB-2 categories, particularly those with academic or research affiliations. Registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and clinical laboratory scientists are frequently sponsored under EB-3. Research scientists and biomedical roles tied to Massachusetts' life sciences sector also see sponsorship activity, especially at hospital-affiliated research institutes.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate lists healthcare jobs in Massachusetts where employers have indicated Green Card sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to filter by state and visa type without sorting through unsponsored postings. Because sponsorship willingness varies significantly by employer and role, focusing on large academic medical centers and major health systems in the Boston and Worcester areas tends to yield the most relevant results.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for healthcare Green Card sponsorship?
Massachusetts requires all practicing clinicians to hold state licensure, which is separate from and must be maintained alongside the immigration process. For physicians, the state's strong affiliation between hospitals and medical schools like Harvard, Tufts, and UMass means many roles carry academic appointments that can support EB-1B or NIW petitions. Priority date backlogs under EB-2 and EB-3 still apply and vary significantly by country of birth.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
