Responsibilities:
- Own the design, delivery, and iteration of learning programs for Snowflakes across the organization, in partnership with other L&D program owners.
- Develop programs that build core, transferable skills including soft skills, career development, and employee effectiveness.
- Create scalable learning solutions such as self-serve resources, reusable content, and train-the-trainer models that enable partners and facilitators to extend reach.
- Partner with People Partners, Talent, and L&D colleagues to ensure a cohesive and well-scoped employee development experience.
- Collaborate with content designers and subject matter experts to create clear, practical learning assets.
- Use feedback and data to assess effectiveness and continuously improve programs.
- Contribute to shared frameworks, standards, and ways of working across the L&D team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of progressive experience in developing and implementing learning programs, with a focus on building and iterating on new programs, preferably within a technology company or high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement learning programs in a new or evolving function including experience building manager onboarding or leadership development programs.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and various learning methodologies, with a passion for experimentation.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders across levels.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Which companies sponsor visas for learning development managers in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts healthcare systems, including Mass General Brigham and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, along with major universities like Harvard, MIT, and Boston University, have sponsored learning and development roles in the past. Technology companies headquartered in the greater Boston area, such as HubSpot and Wayfair, also have established HR and talent development functions that have historically supported visa sponsorship for qualified candidates.
Which visa types are most common for learning development manager roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for learning development manager positions in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in instructional design, organizational development, education, or a related field. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3, and those from Canada or Mexico may qualify under the TN visa category, provided the specific job duties align with an eligible TN profession.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most learning development manager sponsorship jobs?
Greater Boston, including Cambridge and Somerville, concentrates the largest share of learning development manager roles in Massachusetts, driven by the density of universities, healthcare institutions, and technology employers. Worcester is a secondary market with meaningful activity from healthcare networks like UMass Memorial. Outside these corridors, sponsorship opportunities are comparatively limited, making Boston the practical center of gravity for international candidates in this field.
How to find learning development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters Massachusetts learning development manager roles by sponsorship history, so you avoid applying to employers unlikely to support a visa petition. Because sponsorship willingness varies significantly across organizations even within the same industry, filtering by verified sponsorship data saves meaningful time. You can browse current openings on Migrate Mate and prioritize roles at employers with a documented track record of H-1B or E-3 sponsorship in Massachusetts.
Are there state-specific or role-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for learning development managers in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for learning development manager roles in the relevant metropolitan area, which reflects local market rates. The state's concentration of higher education institutions also creates a pipeline of candidates with instructional design or organizational behavior credentials, meaning competition for sponsored roles can be meaningful. Employers in the nonprofit and academic sectors sometimes move more slowly through sponsorship processes than those in the private technology or healthcare sectors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored learning development manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
