Which companies sponsor visas for sales development representatives in Massachusetts?
Boston-area SaaS and tech companies are among the most active sponsors for SDR roles in Massachusetts. HubSpot, Klaviyo, Drift, Recorded Future, and Rapid7 have histories of sponsoring international candidates in sales and business development functions. Life sciences companies with commercial teams, such as those clustered in the Kendall Square area of Cambridge, also hire SDRs and have established immigration programs.
Which visa types are most common for sales development representative roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for SDR roles, though it requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree in a specific field must be a genuine requirement for the job. Some employers also sponsor L-1 visa transfers for international employees moving from an overseas office. Candidates already on OPT or STEM OPT can begin work immediately while their employer initiates H-1B sponsorship.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most sales development representative sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of SDR sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, driven by the concentration of venture-backed SaaS companies and established tech employers in those areas. The Route 128 corridor, including Waltham and Burlington, is a secondary hub with a mix of cybersecurity and enterprise software firms. Worcester sees a smaller but growing number of SDR openings tied to regional tech expansion.
How to find sales development representative visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters sales development representative roles in Massachusetts by visa sponsorship status, so you are not sifting through listings from employers unlikely to sponsor. The platform aggregates SDR openings from Boston-area SaaS companies, life sciences commercial teams, and enterprise tech firms, and shows you which employers have an active sponsorship history, saving significant research time.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for SDR roles and visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers must pay H-1B workers the prevailing wage for the role and location as determined by the Department of Labor, which reflects Boston's above-average cost of living. The state's dense university pipeline from MIT, Boston University, Northeastern, and UMass channels a large number of international graduates into the local SDR hiring market, meaning competition for sponsored roles is meaningful. Employers who recruit from university career programs are often more experienced with sponsorship logistics.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales development representative jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
