About us
Cyvl is a Boston-based tech startup revolutionizing how governments map and manage transportation infrastructure. Our enterprise-grade hardware and software solutions leverage 3D mapping sensors to capture LiDAR, imagery, and GPS data, retrofitted to our customers’ vehicles. This data is processed through our AI-powered cloud pipelines to generate actionable geospatial insights that save cities time, money, and resources. At Cyvl, our mission is to empower governments to build and maintain public infrastructure they’re proud of by accelerating decision-making through our sensors and Infrastructure Intelligence Platform. You will be the critical link between Cyvl’s technology and New York City’s most complex infrastructure agencies, turning an active NYC DOT contract into the largest and most strategically important account in our portfolio. We’re a fast-moving, high-growth team that believes in solving real-world problems with authenticity, simplicity, and boldness. Every member of our team is empowered to take ownership, deliver results, and leave a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
About You
You are a builder who thrives inside complex client environments. You don’t wait to be told what to do, you show up to a government agency, understand their fragmented systems and workflows, and figure out how Cyvl fits. You are equally comfortable running a polished demo for a city commissioner and prototyping a custom data output with real LiDAR data the same afternoon. You have managed enterprise accounts with multiple stakeholder groups, navigated government procurement and budget cycles, and know that the difference between a retained client and an expanded one is how embedded you are in their operations. Rather than managing a relationship from the outside, you'll live on the inside of the account, configuring the product, prototyping solutions against real data, and identifying expansion opportunities as they emerge. This is not a support role. It is a strategic growth role that looks like an implementation role. The person who excels here will shape what Cyvl becomes in New York City and will build the playbook for how we operate inside every major US city that follows.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the NYC Account. Serve as the primary point of contact for NYC DOT and new agency relationships (DEP, DOF, and beyond). Run onboarding, training, and ongoing enablement. Build relationships with field operations leads, technical teams, project managers, and commissioners across agencies. Manage multi-stakeholder environments where each group has different tooling, workflows, and readiness levels.
- Build and Deploy Solutions. Configure Cyvl’s platform against real agency data and workflows. Prototype custom outputs, integrations, and analyses using Claude Code and Cyvl’s API. Map Cyvl capabilities to agency-specific technical workflows, whether that’s integration into DOT’s markings management system, work order and asset tracking outputs for DEP field operations, or cross-section and CAD-export workflows for DEP engineering teams. Translate vague agency asks into structured specs and working deliverables.
- Drive Expansion Revenue. Identify and develop expansion opportunities across new NYC agencies and new use cases within existing relationships. Run discovery conversations that surface budget cycles, RFPs, and unmet operational needs. Engage agency IT departments, not just operational users, to unlock programmatic integrations. Support RFP responses and contract renewals with technical depth and implementation credibility.
- Build Durable Adoption. Government agencies run on institutional knowledge, entrenched systems, and years of established habits. Your job is not just to get Cyvl adopted, it’s to make Cyvl indispensable. That means managing change, training users at every level, and systematizing workflows so adoption does not depend on any single person’s memory or enthusiasm.
- Build the Playbook. Document what works: onboarding sequences, integration patterns, expansion triggers, ROI frameworks. Develop this role into a repeatable model that scales to other enterprise accounts and cities. Grow into a leadership role as Cyvl expands the function nationally.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years in a client-facing technical role at a B2B SaaS company, solutions engineering, technical account management, implementation, or similar
- Experience managing enterprise accounts with multiple stakeholder groups, long cycles, and high organizational complexity
- Able to configure and demo software products independently, without engineering hand-holding
- Comfortable prototyping with real data using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent), enough to build working custom outputs, not just describe what engineering should build
- Fluent in SaaS/API concepts; comfortable engaging agency IT departments on topics like SSO, data integrations, system architecture, and access management
- Strong communicator, equally credible in a room with a field operations director, a city IT team, and an agency commissioner
- Based in New York City or willing to relocate; on-site presence with agencies is a core expectation of this role
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with government or municipal clients, including familiarity with procurement, OMB budget processes, and capital vs. expense funding structures
- Familiarity with GIS, geospatial data, LiDAR, or infrastructure asset management workflows
- Track record of expanding an account, not just retaining it
- Prior experience building or leading a small client-facing team; appetite to grow into leadership
- Exposure to API integrations, data pipelines, CAD/GIS export workflows, or field operations software
What we offer
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with immediate vesting
- Generous PTO, paid parental leave, and flexible work options
- Equity participation, this is a foundational hire and will be compensated accordingly
- Annual professional development stipend
- Team events, referral bonuses, and a collaborative, growth-focused culture

Which companies sponsor visas for solution engineers in Massachusetts?
Boston-area technology companies are among the more active sponsors for solution engineer roles in Massachusetts. Firms like HubSpot, Rapid7, PTC, MathWorks, and Veeva Systems have consistent hiring in pre-sales and solutions engineering functions. Enterprise software and cybersecurity companies tend to sponsor more frequently than startups, as they have established HR and legal infrastructure to manage H-1B petitions and related filings.
Which visa types are most common for solution engineer roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for solution engineers in Massachusetts, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT through universities like MIT, Boston University, or Northeastern often transition into H-1B sponsorship with Massachusetts-based employers after an initial employment period.
How to find solution engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by role and visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to browse solution engineer openings in Massachusetts without sorting through positions that do not offer sponsorship. Because solution engineer titles vary across companies, including pre-sales engineer and sales engineer, Migrate Mate's search captures these variations so you're not missing relevant opportunities in the Greater Boston market.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most solution engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of solution engineer sponsorship opportunities in Massachusetts, driven by the concentration of enterprise software, cybersecurity, and healthtech firms in those areas. Waltham and Burlington, along the Route 128 technology corridor, are also significant hiring hubs. Companies headquartered or with major offices in these suburbs regularly post solution engineer roles with H-1B sponsorship.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for solution engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts employers filing H-1B petitions must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are benchmarked to the Boston metropolitan area and tend to reflect a high-cost labor market. Solution engineers entering through STEM OPT from Massachusetts institutions like Northeastern, MIT, or UMass Amherst benefit from the 24-month OPT extension, providing a longer runway to secure H-1B sponsorship before the annual cap lottery.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solution engineer jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
