Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions architects in Massachusetts?
Large technology and cloud services firms with Massachusetts offices are among the most active sponsors for technical solutions architect roles. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, and Oracle have sponsored H-1B petitions for solutions architect positions in the Boston area. Financial services firms like Fidelity Investments and State Street, along with enterprise software companies concentrated along the Route 128 corridor, also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA filings for this role.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions architect roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the predominant visa category for technical solutions architects in Massachusetts, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related engineering field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extension can work in this role while an H-1B petition is filed. L-1B visas are also used when candidates transfer from a foreign affiliate of a multinational employer.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most technical solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share of technical solutions architect sponsorship activity in Massachusetts, driven by the concentration of technology companies, financial institutions, and cloud services providers in the Seaport and Kendall Square areas. Waltham, Burlington, and Woburn along the Route 128 technology corridor are also significant hiring centers, particularly for enterprise software and cybersecurity firms. Worcester sees smaller but growing demand tied to healthcare technology employers.
How to find technical solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, which makes it more efficient than sorting through unfiltered postings for technical solutions architect positions in Massachusetts. You can search by role and state to surface Boston-area and Route 128 corridor employers currently hiring. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated clearly in job postings, using a platform built around this filter saves significant time for candidates on H-1B, OPT, or other work authorization.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for technical solutions architects?
Massachusetts is a high-cost-of-labor state, which affects the prevailing wage levels that employers must certify on the Labor Condition Application filed with the Department of Labor before petitioning for an H-1B. Employers must pay at least the prevailing wage for the Boston-Cambridge-Newton metropolitan area, which is among the higher wage tiers nationally. Massachusetts also has a strong university pipeline from MIT, Boston University, and Northeastern that generates a steady pool of F-1 OPT candidates who later transition to H-1B sponsorship in solutions architect roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions architect jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
