Which companies sponsor visas for account specialists in Michigan?
Michigan employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for account-related roles include large automotive and manufacturing firms headquartered in the Detroit metro, such as General Motors and Stellantis, as well as consumer goods companies like Kellogg and Dow in the Midland and Battle Creek corridors. Regional banks and insurance carriers in Grand Rapids also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for similar positions.
Which visa types are most common for account specialist roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for account specialist positions in Michigan, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business, finance, or marketing. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT through Michigan universities may also work in these roles before an H-1B is filed. TN visa status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business occupations.
Which cities in Michigan have the most account specialist sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its suburbs, including Troy, Southfield, and Dearborn, account for the largest share of account specialist openings tied to visa sponsorship in Michigan, driven by automotive and financial services employers. Ann Arbor supports hiring through its university-connected tech and healthcare sectors, while Grand Rapids has a growing concentration of manufacturing and distribution companies that recruit for account management roles.
How to find account specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse account specialist roles in Michigan without sorting through employers that don't sponsor. The platform is built for international candidates, which means listings are screened for sponsorship intent. Searching by Michigan and account specialist on Migrate Mate gives you a focused view of active opportunities rather than a general job feed.
Are there state-specific considerations for account specialists pursuing sponsorship in Michigan?
Michigan's concentration in automotive, manufacturing, and logistics means account specialist roles often require industry-specific knowledge, which can strengthen a sponsorship case by demonstrating specialized expertise. Employers must file a Labor Condition Application certifying the offered wage meets the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the region and occupation. Michigan's lower cost of living relative to coastal tech hubs can affect prevailing wage benchmarks, which vary by county and job classification.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored account specialist jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
