Which companies sponsor visas for director, product management roles in Michigan?
Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Stellantis, and their affiliated tech subsidiaries are among the most active H-1B sponsors for senior product roles in Michigan. Beyond automotive, companies like Rocket Companies, Consumers Energy's digital teams, and enterprise software firms in Ann Arbor have sponsored director-level product managers. Sponsorship at this level typically requires a clear business case tied to specialized technical or domain expertise.
Which visa types are most common for director, product management roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa for director, product management roles in Michigan, given that the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. L-1A intracompany transferee visas are also relevant for candidates moving from a foreign affiliate of a Michigan-based employer. O-1 visas occasionally apply for candidates with demonstrated exceptional achievement in product leadership.
Which cities in Michigan have the most director, product management sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its surrounding suburbs, particularly Dearborn, Troy, and Auburn Hills, concentrate the majority of director-level product management sponsorship opportunities due to the automotive and mobility tech industry presence. Ann Arbor is a secondary hub, supported by University of Michigan spinouts and established software companies. Grand Rapids has a smaller but growing pool of sponsoring employers in healthcare technology and business services.
How to find director, product management visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter director, product management roles by state, including Michigan. Because sponsorship at the director level often goes unlisted on general boards, Migrate Mate's curated data helps surface employers with active H-1B filings for senior product positions. Filtering by Michigan gives you a focused view of companies currently hiring at this seniority level with demonstrated sponsorship history.
What state-specific factors should director, product management candidates in Michigan know about visa sponsorship?
Michigan's automotive and mobility sector means many director, product management roles require domain expertise in connected vehicles, manufacturing software, or supply chain technology, which strengthens a specialty occupation argument for H-1B purposes. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements apply to all sponsored roles, and Michigan's cost of living influences where wages land relative to national benchmarks. Ann Arbor's University of Michigan also feeds a pipeline of international candidates into product roles across the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director, product management jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
