Which companies sponsor visas for project management coordinators in Michigan?
Michigan's largest visa sponsors for project management coordinator roles come from automotive and manufacturing sectors. Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and Stellantis have consistent H-1B filing histories for project management positions. Healthcare systems like Henry Ford Health and Beaumont Health also sponsor, as do defense and aerospace firms such as Raytheon and L3Harris. University employers like the University of Michigan are cap-exempt H-1B sponsors.
Which visa types are most common for project management coordinator roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project management coordinators in Michigan, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may pursue the TN visa under the 'Management Consultant' or related USMCA categories. Candidates with an F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extension can work in the role before an employer files an H-1B petition.
Which cities in Michigan have the most project management coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its metro suburbs, including Dearborn, Troy, and Auburn Hills, account for the largest concentration of project management coordinator sponsorship opportunities due to the automotive industry cluster. Ann Arbor is a secondary hub, driven by the University of Michigan and a growing tech and life sciences sector. Grand Rapids has an emerging manufacturing and healthcare market that increasingly supports international hiring for coordination roles.
How to find project management coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify project management coordinator openings in Michigan where employers are actively sponsoring. You can search by state and role to surface positions at automotive companies, healthcare systems, and manufacturers across the Detroit metro, Ann Arbor, and Grand Rapids. Filtering by sponsorship type helps narrow results to employers who have sponsored H-1B petitions for this role category before.
Are there any Michigan-specific considerations for project management coordinator sponsorship?
Michigan's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B sponsorship are tied to the Detroit-Warren-Dearborn and Grand Rapids metropolitan statistical areas, so offered wages must meet Department of Labor wage levels for the specific location. Michigan's heavy concentration of automotive employers means many project management coordinator roles are tied to product development or manufacturing timelines, which can influence contract versus permanent hire decisions. University of Michigan and Michigan State University also generate a notable pipeline of international graduates seeking sponsorship in coordination roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management coordinator jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
