Which companies sponsor visas for engineering managers in Minnesota?
UnitedHealth Group, Medtronic, Target, Best Buy, and Cargill are among the largest Minnesota employers with established visa sponsorship programs for engineering managers. Mid-size technology firms and health IT companies in the Twin Cities metro also sponsor regularly. Companies with dedicated immigration support teams and high engineering headcount are generally the most active sponsors for senior technical leadership roles.
Which visa types are most common for engineering manager roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for engineering managers in Minnesota, given that the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1A status through a multinational employer can also transfer into an engineering manager role. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is specific to that nationality.
How to find engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters engineering manager jobs specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, so you can browse Minnesota-based openings without sifting through roles that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces positions from employers in the Twin Cities tech sector, healthcare IT, and medical devices industries, where engineering manager sponsorship is most common. Filtering by Minnesota and the engineering manager role type gives you the most relevant results.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and Saint Paul account for the large majority of engineering manager sponsorship jobs in Minnesota. Minneapolis hosts the headquarters and major tech campuses of companies like Target and Ameriprise Financial, while Saint Paul is home to several health and manufacturing operations. Suburban corridors including Eden Prairie, Plymouth, and Minnetonka also have significant employer concentration, particularly in medical devices and enterprise software.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for engineering manager visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's strong presence in healthcare technology and medical devices means engineering manager roles often require domain knowledge in regulated industries, which can strengthen an H-1B petition by demonstrating the specialty occupation requirement. The University of Minnesota and local engineering programs create an active talent pipeline that employers draw from, which also means sponsoring companies are experienced with the immigration process for technical roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering manager jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
