Astera Health's Marketing team is looking for a part-time intern! The internship would be for one academic year at approximately 20 hours per week and offers flexible scheduling for your academic requirements! This position is primarily on-site in Wadena, MN.
Job Summary/Success in this role looks like:
The Public Relations Intern supports the Astera Health Marketing and Foundation team through hands-on experience in healthcare marketing, community engagement, philanthropy, volunteer coordination, and event support. This internship provides meaningful exposure to nonprofit healthcare operations while assisting with projects that enhance community awareness, donor engagement, volunteer experiences, and organizational growth.
Essential Duties:
- Supports the mission and positively exhibits the values of Astera Health through personal conduct and behaviors.
- Assist with planning, preparation, and execution of Foundation, marketing, and community events.
- Support volunteer coordination efforts including recruitment activities, communication, scheduling assistance, and volunteer recognition initiatives.
- Assist in creating content for social media platforms, digital communications, newsletters, website updates, and marketing campaigns.
- Support photography, video, and storytelling initiatives highlighting Astera Health services, patients, events, staff, donors, and volunteers.
- Help develop marketing collateral including flyers, posters, brochures, presentations, signage, and promotional materials under the guidance of the Graphic Designer and Marketing team.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining marketing assets, event supplies, donor information, and promotional inventory.
- Participate in community outreach activities and represent Astera Health at events, fairs, and Foundation functions as appropriate.
- Assist with data entry, donor acknowledgment preparation, event tracking, and reporting activities related to Foundation operations.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects that support strategic marketing, fundraising, volunteer engagement, and business development goals.
- Maintain confidentiality of donor, patient, employee, and organizational information in accordance with privacy regulations and organizational policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the Marketing and Foundation department.
