ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Principal IT Technologist (Site Infrastructure & Operations) is an enterprise-impact individual contributor and regional/site SME responsible for planning, design, leadership, governance, and complex delivery of site I&O services across manufacturing, office, lab, and distribution environments. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Lead global automation activities for printers, Enterprise Mobile Computers, and other IT systems. Including GB1 RR2 inventorying, deploying, configuring, and lifecycle management.
- Lead multi-site or regional infrastructure programs from requirements through hypercare, ensuring alignment with architecture standards, timelines, and operational readiness.
- Provide advanced L2.5/L3 troubleshooting, diagnostics, and remote escalations for diverse Enterprise Mobile Computer environments.
- Create strategies to combine printer and device management systems within the centralized ServiceNow CMDB.
- Collaborate with business process owners to improve the interoperability between mobile computers and warehouse and manufacturing systems.
- Run proactive monitoring and leverage advanced diagnostic tooling to identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure performance and reliability issues.
- Support and enforce patching, segmentation, and security policy implementation, ensuring alignment with security and compliance standards.
- Strong working knowledge of barcode technologies and labeling standards used in distribution environments.
- Maintain, author, and continuously improve SOPs, Work Instructions, and MOPs to ensure scalable, consistent global execution.
- Provide field insights to influence architecture, engineering, and platform roadmaps; identify opportunities for standardization and capability enhancement.
- Develop Android utilities to aid in configuration, troubleshooting, and productivity for end users of Enterprise Mobile Computers.
- Evaluate system design across hardware/software interfaces to ensure compatibility, capacity alignment, performance optimization, and architectural conformance.
- Identify system deficiencies, execute required system changes, and validate updates to support data integrity, operational stability, and performance improvements.
- Translate architectural standards into field-ready implementation patterns, including BOMs, configurations, rack/stack patterns, and acceptance criteria.
- Provide technical direction, governance, and quality oversight for onsite partners, vendors, and contract personnel.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional IT teams, site leaders, and business partners to align technology delivery with operational needs.
- Establish, maintain, and report on infrastructure health metrics such as availability, capacity, performance, and security posture.
- Participate in on-call rotations, provide leadership during major incidents, and support critical cutovers, audits, and operational readiness events.
- Lead COE improvement initiatives to enhance standardization, operational maturity, automation, and global consistency across SIO.
- Apply mastery level expertise to guide peers, influence decision making, and drive technical direction across infrastructure domains.
- Lead priority infrastructure projects, coordinating resources, delegating technical work, and reviewing deliverables for quality and compliance.
- Oversee and occasionally perform physical infrastructure activities (rack/stack, cabling, equipment installations, hardware diagnostics) when required.
- Provide planning and budget input for infrastructure improvements, lifecycle refreshes, and annual investment planning.
- Coordinate hands-and-feet execution with vendors and managed service partners; oversee quality, logistics, procurement, and execution alignment.
- Utilize advanced network test tools to validate connectivity, performance, and adherence to design requirements.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to stakeholders, ensuring technology needs are understood, prioritized, and executed effectively.
- Maintain deep technical expertise across networking, compute, storage, and backup technologies to support architectural and operational decision-making.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex, systemic, or recurring device issues in distribution environments.
- May have broad knowledge of project management.
- 7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree or 12+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years; OR advanced degree and 5+ years.

- Android Enterprise Mobile administration
