Position Summary:
Develop and maintain assembly processes for current production and new product introduction. Conduct time studies to resolve workflow issues. Set up and maintain production systems (Parts routings, Standard Work, Andon) by using software like OBMS and TeamCenter. Develop and maintain labor standards. Support and execute part and process changes and manage product flow with the materials group. Support production to achieve SQDP targets. Assist the Manufacturing Engineering team with line control, tooling, and equipment for daily production and project implementation. Complete analysis and summarize findings by utilizing MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) application.
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
- Maintain production line presence within various production departments to maintain and improve assembly processes.
- Including, but not limited to, production improvement projects.
- Perform time studies to resolve workflow problems and define line rate / balancing.
- New production support, monitoring and documenting process issues; this is part of the Brunswick HPPD Process.
- Setup and maintain production systems such as Parts routings, Standard Work, Andon and more. Utilizing various software such as OBMS and TeamCenter.
- Develop, enter, and maintain labor standards.
- Support and execute part and process changes in production.
- Use lean tools for problem resolution that include A3, Andon, and Heijunka.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering team with piece part and tooling issue resolution.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-year technical degree preferred.
- 3-5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
- Good clerical and tactical skills required.
- Very good communication and organization skills.
- Proven leadership abilities and must be collaborative and team oriented.
- Innovative and open to new ideas and must support and understand Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Proficient in computer work, with OBMS experience a plus.
- Position requires a self-motivated individual who can perform multiple tasks.
- Flexibility for overtime, including some weekends, as needed (often tied to Line production schedule).
- Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. PDM knowledge and experience preferred.
Work Environment:
Regularly required to work at heights on platforms, lifting parts and pieces up to 70 lbs., traveling up and down stairs on a constant basis, sitting, squatting and bending in various awkward positions for certain lengths of time - including working overhead, traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on your feet for a majority of the workday. Exposed to noise, dust, fumes and odors daily. Pushing and pulling material carts. Physical exertion is required.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $20.90 - $23.50. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
