Which transportation companies in Minnesota sponsor work visas?
Target Corporation, 3M, UPS, and C.H. Robinson are among Minnesota's top transportation employers sponsoring H-1B and other work visas. These companies regularly hire international professionals for supply chain management, logistics analysis, and transportation planning roles, particularly in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area where their headquarters are located.
What visa types are most common for transportation jobs in Minnesota?
H-1B visas dominate transportation sponsorship in Minnesota, especially for supply chain analysts, logistics engineers, and transportation planners requiring specialized degrees. TN visas are also common for Canadian and Mexican professionals in logistics roles, while E-3 visas serve Australian citizens in qualifying transportation positions at major Minnesota employers.
How to find transportation visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Use Migrate Mate to browse transportation roles specifically filtered for visa sponsorship in Minnesota. The platform shows positions from companies with proven sponsorship history in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Duluth, and Rochester. You can filter by visa type, experience level, and specific transportation sectors like freight, logistics, or supply chain management.
Which Minnesota cities have the most transportation sponsorship opportunities?
Minneapolis-St. Paul leads with corporate headquarters of Target, 3M, and major logistics companies offering sponsored positions. Duluth provides opportunities in port operations and freight management, while Rochester has growing transportation tech roles. The Twin Cities metro area accounts for approximately 80% of Minnesota's transportation visa sponsorship positions.
What makes Minnesota attractive for international transportation professionals?
Minnesota offers competitive prevailing wages for transportation roles, often above national averages due to strong union presence and corporate headquarters concentration. The state's central location makes it a key logistics hub, while partnerships between University of Minnesota's supply chain programs and major employers create clear pathways for international graduates into sponsored positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored transportation jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
