INTRODUCTION
As a member of the Supply Chain team, the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator 1 is responsible for the coordination of all inbound and outbound shipments, and maintenance of shipping records to facilitate tracking.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated locations
- Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information
- Reviews inbound shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy
- Responsible for receiving parts, tagging parts, and the organization and storage maintenance in the warehouse
- Collect materials to fulfill orders accurately
- Responsible for the packing and shipping of large and small crates for parts shipment, for internal and external customers
- Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule
- When problems arise, resolves issues with purchasing department
- Ensure proper communication is provided to site managers/supervisors
- Maintain customer service to internal, external, and international customers
- Utilize and improve methods of receiving, shipping, product preservation and internal tracking parts received and distributed to manufacturers
- Actively participate in a continuous improvement culture providing recommendations and implementing enhancements to current methods and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree preferred
- 2+ years of specific experience in material handling related responsibilities required
Qualifications
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to MS Dynamics, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
- Ability to read and interpret engineering Bill of Materials
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written with a proven ability to be assertive yet approachable delivering a positive customer service experience
- Ability to think critically about both client's needs and internal solutions
- Highly motivated, able to work independently, and to schedule requirements
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; actively seeks opportunities to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met
