Which transportation companies sponsor visas in Arizona?
Arizona Department of Transportation leads state-level sponsorship, while Southwest Airlines sponsors for aviation roles at Sky Harbor. Union Pacific and BNSF Railway sponsor for rail operations and engineering positions. FedEx and UPS sponsor at their Phoenix and Tucson distribution centers. Knight-Swift Transportation, headquartered in Phoenix, sponsors for logistics technology and operations management roles.
How to find transportation visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for transportation roles in Arizona that offer visa sponsorship. The platform filters by state and industry, showing which employers have historically filed H-1B petitions for transportation positions. Focus on Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas where most sponsoring employers are located, including aviation, rail, and logistics companies.
Which visa types are most common for transportation roles in Arizona?
H-1B visas dominate for transportation engineering, logistics analysis, and operations management positions requiring specialized knowledge. TN visas work well for Canadian and Mexican professionals in engineering and logistics roles. L-1 visas are common for managers transferring to Arizona offices of multinational transportation companies like FedEx or international rail operators.
Which cities in Arizona have the most transportation sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix leads with Sky Harbor International Airport, major rail yards, and distribution centers for national carriers. The Phoenix metropolitan area hosts Southwest Airlines headquarters and regional offices for Union Pacific and BNSF Railway. Tucson follows with Raytheon aerospace operations and cross-border logistics companies. Flagstaff offers some rail and logistics positions along Interstate 40.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for transportation jobs in Arizona?
Arizona transportation prevailing wages vary significantly by role and location. Phoenix metropolitan area commands higher wages for aviation and logistics management positions compared to rural areas. Border logistics roles in Nogales and Yuma may have different wage determinations. Rail engineering positions typically meet H-1B wage requirements more easily than entry-level logistics coordination roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored transportation jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
