Which transportation companies sponsor visas in Utah?
Major transportation employers in Utah that sponsor work visas include C.R. England (one of the largest trucking companies in the U.S.), TMC Transportation, UPS freight operations, and Swift Transportation. Salt Lake City's position as a regional logistics hub also attracts international freight companies and third-party logistics providers that need skilled professionals for operations management and supply chain roles.
How to find transportation visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for transportation and logistics roles in Utah that offer visa sponsorship. The platform filters positions by companies with proven sponsorship history in the transportation sector. Focus your search on Salt Lake City and surrounding areas where most major transportation employers are concentrated, including freight corridors and distribution centers.
Which visa types are most common for transportation roles in Utah?
H-1B visas are common for transportation engineering, logistics analytics, and supply chain management positions requiring specialized degrees. TN visas work well for Canadian and Mexican professionals in transportation planning roles. L-1 visas are frequently used when international transportation companies transfer managers to their Utah operations or establish new facilities in the state.
Which cities in Utah have the most transportation sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City dominates Utah's transportation job market due to its position as a major rail and highway intersection. West Valley City and Murray host significant logistics facilities, while Ogden offers opportunities with rail companies. The Salt Lake City International Airport area also provides air cargo and freight forwarding positions with international companies.
What are prevailing wage considerations for transportation jobs in Utah?
Utah's transportation prevailing wages are generally lower than coastal markets but competitive within the Mountain West region. Logistics manager and transportation engineer positions typically meet H-1B wage requirements, especially in Salt Lake City's metro area. The state's growing tech sector has also increased demand for supply chain technology professionals, pushing wages higher for specialized roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored transportation jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
