Position Overview:
As part of the talented Boston Whaler team, you will be the central hub for all departmental activity. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the work order lifecycle—from initial request to final sign-off. Utilizing the Mpulse CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), you will prioritize repairs, allocate assets, and coordinate with production leads to ensure maintenance happens with minimal impact on boat-building timelines. The primary role of this position is scheduling followed by hands-on maintenance and repair of facility equipment.
At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the primary administrator for Mpulse CMMS
- Monitor the Mpulse System for incoming work requests; review them for clarity, seek additional information as necessary, and determine level of urgency
- Prioritize "Line Down" emergencies vs. routine preventative maintenance (PM)
- Assign specific tasks to maintenance technicians based on skill set and current workload
- Ensure all work orders are coded correctly (labor hours, parts used, downtime) for accurate reporting
- Generate weekly KPIs for the Maintenance Supervisor (PM compliance, backlog aging, and average time to repair)
- Maintain a comprehensive list of all manufacturing assets (molds, overhead cranes, pneumatic systems, etc.) within the system
- Track the location and status of mobile assets and specialized tools to ensure they are available when and where production needs them
- Manage equipment manuals, warranty information, and service contracts
- Act as the liaison between the Maintenance Dept. and Production Managers to communicate scheduled downtime
- Assist in the administrative onboarding of outside contractors for specialized facility repairs
- Hands-on maintenance and repair of facility equipment
- Hands-on repair of facility items and back-up support of the Tool Crib Administrator
- Participating in team meetings
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven working experience with CMMS platforms specifically Mpulse
- Previous hands-on experience performing maintenance and repair of equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision and a decisive problem-solver who can handle the pressure of a fast-paced production environment
- Must be able to work a variable schedule, 10-hour workdays, and a 4- or 5-day work week
- High school diploma or GED Program
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred 3+ years in a scheduling, planning, or administrative role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance terms and equipment to effectively prioritize technical requests and perform hands-on maintenance and repair of equipment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate repair timelines to production with diplomacy
- Ability to analyze a list of 50 tasks and independently identify the 5 that are most critical to the day’s production goals
- Proficient in inventory management software, Microsoft Office (specifically intermediate Excel), Outlook, and Teams
- Experience with PCL, Arduino, or Raspberry PI a plus
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based within the maintenance department, with frequent "floor walks" to verify asset status and communicate with technicians.
- Secondary in the facility working around machinery and equipment.
- Must be comfortable in a high-activity manufacturing plant environment.
- Ability to sit/stand/walk for the duration of a 10-hour shift. Comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment (varying temperatures and noise levels).
- Employees must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.98, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
This position is eligible to participate in Brunswick's comprehensive and high-quality benefits offerings, including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, 401k (up to 4% match), Health Savings Account (with company contribution), wellbeing program, product purchase discounts, and much more. Details about our benefits can be found here.
