General Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include performing field deep foundation testing including high-strain dynamic load testing using PDA (PDA), cross-hole sonic logging (CSL), thermal integrity profiling (TIP), pile integrity testing (PIT), and static load testing, and performing analyses and developing technical reports under a licensed professional engineer’s supervision. Assist preparing proposals and manage assigned deep foundation testing projects and clients. Projects may span transportation, commercial, public works, communications, energy and industrial sectors.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.
- Participate in pre-task planning and promptly report safety concerns to management.
- Demonstrate strong quality practices and attention to detail across all project tasks.
- Ensure consistent quality in both proposal development and project execution.
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, and other project related documents.
- Conduct, coordinate or supervise field testing and data analysis.
- Perform high-strain dynamic testing of driven piles and drilled shafts using a Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) and CAPWAP software.
- Perform wave equation analyses using GRLWEAP software.
- Conduct Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL), Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP) and Low-Strain Integrity Testing (PIT) of drilled shafts and similar foundations.
- Conduct conventional static load testing of deep foundation systems.
- Interacts with clients and internal teams to develop scopes of services and communicate project progress.
- Work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer and a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or other related field (required).
- PDCA PDA certificate intermediate level or higher (preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification (required).
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Preferred experience in deep foundation testing or geotechnical engineering.
