Which accounting companies sponsor visas in Florida?
Major accounting firms with strong Florida presence include the Big Four (PwC, EY, Deloitte, KPMG), mid-tier firms like BDO USA and CliftonLarsonAllen, and regional firms such as Ketel Thorstenson and Cherry Bekaert. Many multinational corporations headquartered in Florida, including Carnival Corporation and NextEra Energy, also sponsor accountants for their internal finance teams.
Which visa types are most common for accounting roles in Florida?
H-1B visas dominate accounting sponsorship in Florida, particularly for CPA-level positions and specialized roles like forensic accounting or international tax. L-1 visas are common for accountants transferring within multinational firms, while O-1 visas occasionally apply to accounting experts with exceptional qualifications in areas like financial restructuring or complex tax strategy.
How to find accounting visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international accountants with Florida employers offering visa sponsorship. The platform filters opportunities by location and includes detailed sponsorship information for each role. Focus your search on Miami-Dade, Broward, Orange, and Hillsborough counties, where most sponsored accounting positions are concentrated due to the presence of major firms and corporate headquarters.
Which cities in Florida have the most accounting sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida's accounting visa sponsorship market due to its status as a Latin American business gateway and concentration of international banks. Tampa follows with corporate headquarters and financial services firms, while Orlando benefits from tourism-related businesses and growing tech sector. Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach also offer opportunities, particularly in wealth management and international accounting.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for accounting jobs in Florida?
Florida's prevailing wages for accounting positions vary significantly by metro area, with Miami commanding higher wages due to cost of living and international business complexity. The state has no income tax, which can make total compensation competitive despite potentially lower base salaries compared to states like New York or California. CPAs and specialized roles like international tax typically qualify more easily for H-1B prevailing wage requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
