Which electronics companies sponsor visas in Florida?
Major electronics visa sponsors in Florida include defense contractors like Harris Corporation and Lockheed Martin in Melbourne, semiconductor companies like Analog Devices in Orlando, and contract manufacturers like Jabil in St. Petersburg. Medical device companies such as Stryker and Abbott also sponsor electronics engineers. Many of these companies have established visa sponsorship programs for specialized engineering roles.
Which visa types are most common for electronics roles in Florida?
H-1B visas dominate electronics sponsorship in Florida, particularly for electrical engineers, embedded software developers, and hardware design roles. O-1 visas are used for senior engineers with exceptional expertise in RF design or semiconductor development. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican engineers, while E-3 visas are available for Australian electronics professionals.
How to find electronics visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international electronics professionals with Florida employers who sponsor visas. The platform filters opportunities by specific engineering disciplines, from RF design to power electronics, across Florida's major tech hubs. Focus your search on defense contractors along the Space Coast and semiconductor companies in the Orlando-Tampa corridor for the highest sponsorship rates.
Which Florida cities have the most electronics sponsorship jobs?
Orlando leads in electronics visa sponsorship due to its concentration of defense contractors and simulation companies. The Melbourne-Titusville area offers numerous opportunities with aerospace electronics firms. Tampa-St. Petersburg hosts contract manufacturers and medical device companies, while Miami provides opportunities in telecommunications and consumer electronics sectors.
What should electronics engineers know about Florida's visa sponsorship market?
Florida's electronics sector benefits from no state income tax, making total compensation packages more attractive to visa holders. The state's defense industry requires security clearance eligibility, which can limit opportunities for recent immigrants. University of Florida and Florida Tech provide strong engineering talent pipelines, creating competitive entry-level markets but steady demand for experienced professionals.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored electronics jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
