Which legal companies sponsor visas in Florida?
Major Florida law firms sponsoring visas include Greenberg Traurig, Akerman, Holland & Knight, Carlton Fields, and Shutts & Bowen. These firms typically sponsor H-1B visas for attorneys specializing in international law, immigration, corporate law, and litigation. Miami-based firms focusing on Latin American business law are particularly active sponsors due to their international client base.
How to find legal visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Use Migrate Mate to browse legal visa sponsorship jobs specifically in Florida, filtering by city, practice area, and visa type. Focus on Miami and Orlando for the highest concentration of opportunities. Target international law firms, corporate legal departments of multinational companies, and immigration law practices that regularly file H-1B and O-1 petitions for foreign legal professionals.
Which visa types are most common for legal roles in Florida?
H-1B visas dominate Florida's legal sector, especially for attorney positions requiring specialized knowledge in international law, securities, or immigration. O-1 visas are common for experienced attorneys with extraordinary ability in specific legal fields. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican lawyers, while L-1 visas support transfers from international law firm offices.
Which cities in Florida have the most legal sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads with the highest concentration of legal visa sponsorship jobs, driven by international business law firms and corporate headquarters. Orlando follows with growing corporate legal departments and technology law practices. Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach also offer opportunities, particularly in insurance law, real estate, and financial services legal roles.
What are prevailing wage requirements for legal jobs in Florida?
Legal roles in Florida follow DOL prevailing wage determinations based on job duties, education requirements, and geographic location. Miami and Orlando typically have higher prevailing wages than other Florida cities. Immigration attorneys, corporate lawyers, and specialized legal analysts generally qualify for Level III or IV wages, while entry-level paralegal positions may qualify at Level I or II.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored legal jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
