Which accounting companies sponsor visas in Missouri?
Major sponsors include Emerson in St. Louis, Express Scripts (now part of Cigna), and regional firms like BKD CPAs and Anders CPAs. Corporate headquarters for companies like Centene and Reinsurance Group of America also sponsor accounting positions. Mid-size firms serving Missouri's agriculture and manufacturing sectors frequently need international talent for specialized tax and advisory roles.
Which cities in Missouri have the most accounting visa sponsorship jobs?
St. Louis leads with corporate headquarters and financial services firms, followed by Kansas City's business district. Springfield offers opportunities with regional firms and healthcare organizations. Columbia benefits from university partnerships, while Jefferson City provides state government and regulatory accounting positions that occasionally sponsor visas for specialized roles.
How to find accounting visa sponsorship jobs in Missouri?
Use Migrate Mate to filter accounting positions specifically in Missouri cities like St. Louis and Kansas City. The platform shows which employers have previously sponsored visas for accounting roles, helping you target companies with proven sponsorship track records in Missouri's market rather than applying broadly to firms without sponsorship history.
Which visa types are most common for accounting roles in Missouri?
H-1B visas dominate for accounting positions requiring bachelor's degrees, particularly in corporate finance and tax roles. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican accountants in NAFTA-eligible positions. O-1 visas occasionally apply for senior professionals with specialized expertise in areas like forensic accounting or international tax compliance serving Missouri's diverse industrial base.
What prevailing wage considerations affect accounting sponsorship in Missouri?
Missouri's lower cost of living means prevailing wages for accounting roles are typically below national averages, making sponsorship more affordable for employers. St. Louis and Kansas City command higher wages than rural areas. Agricultural and manufacturing focus creates demand for specialized accounting knowledge that can justify visa sponsorship despite regional wage levels.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting jobs in Missouri?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
