Job Description:
Team Overview:
The Solutions Engineer, Security is a hands‑on engineering role within the Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) organization, focused on building and scaling security platforms that enable automated detection, response, and risk reduction across cloud and hybrid environments.
This role emphasizes security platform engineering and automation, not day‑to‑day alert monitoring. You’ll partner closely with detection engineering, cloud, infrastructure, data, and risk teams to embed security controls directly into enterprise architectures and delivery pipelines while continuing to grow deep technical expertise in modern security engineering.
What You’ll Do:
- Engineer, integrate, and scale enterprise security platforms supporting automated detection, response, and exposure reduction.
- Design and maintain SOAR workflows and playbooks to reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and respond (MTTR).
- Implement and support monitoring and detection capabilities across databases, networks, and cloud environments.
- Integrate security telemetry (SIEM, EDR, NDR, DAM, vulnerability tools) into unified detection and response pipelines.
- Build security integrations and deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner cross‑functionally with cloud, DevOps, data, and risk teams to embed security into architecture and delivery.
- Evaluate new security tools through proofs of concept and contribute to platform roadmaps.
- Document designs, patterns, and integrations to support scalability and operational resilience.

Which companies sponsor visas for solution engineers in Missouri?
World Wide Technology, headquartered in St. Louis, is one of Missouri's most active sponsors for technical roles including solution engineers. Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in Kansas City, Mastercard's St. Louis operations, and Edward Jones also appear in H-1B visa disclosure data for pre-sales and client-facing engineering positions. Consulting firms and managed services providers in both cities round out the sponsoring employer pool.
Which visa types are most common for solution engineers in Missouri?
The H-1B is the most common visa for solution engineers in Missouri, classifying the role as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for the TN visa under the engineer category. Australians with relevant degrees can explore the E-3 visa. Each requires employer sponsorship and a certified Labor Condition Application filed with the Department of Labor.
Which cities in Missouri have the most solution engineer sponsorship jobs?
St. Louis generates the majority of Missouri's solution engineer sponsorship activity, driven by World Wide Technology's global headquarters and a dense cluster of fintech, cybersecurity, and enterprise software firms. Kansas City is a strong secondary market, anchored by Oracle Health, Cerner's legacy workforce, and a growing technology corridor. Smaller pockets of technical hiring exist in Columbia, home to University of Missouri-connected startups and regional healthcare organizations.
How to find solution engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Missouri?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse solution engineer roles posted by Missouri employers who have confirmed sponsorship willingness. Because solution engineer titles vary across companies, searching related terms like pre-sales engineer or sales engineer within Migrate Mate helps surface relevant openings across St. Louis and Kansas City without manually screening hundreds of listings for sponsorship eligibility.
Are there state-specific considerations for solution engineers pursuing sponsorship in Missouri?
Missouri does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal obligations, but prevailing wage compliance is particularly relevant here. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations for solution engineers vary between St. Louis and Kansas City metro areas, and employers must certify the offered wage meets the local standard on the Labor Condition Application. Missouri's strong university pipeline, particularly from Washington University in St. Louis and University of Missouri, means competition for sponsored roles can be significant.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solution engineer jobs in Missouri?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
