Which manufacturing companies in Nebraska sponsor H-1B visas?
Several large manufacturers in Nebraska have filed H-1B petitions historically, including Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing in Lincoln, AGCO Corporation, Becton Dickinson, and food processing companies such as Tyson Foods and Cargill. Larger facilities with dedicated engineering and technical staffing needs are generally more likely to sponsor H-1B workers than smaller regional manufacturers.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most manufacturing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Omaha and Lincoln account for the largest share of Nebraska's manufacturing H-1B activity, given their concentration of industrial facilities, corporate headquarters, and technical talent pipelines from the University of Nebraska. Grand Island and Hastings also see manufacturing sponsorship opportunities, particularly in food processing and agricultural equipment production, which are central to the state's industrial base.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Nebraska?
H-1B sponsorship in manufacturing generally applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Roles that commonly qualify include manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, quality engineers, process engineers, automation and controls engineers, and supply chain analysts. Production floor or general assembly positions typically do not meet the specialty occupation threshold required for H-1B eligibility.
How do I find manufacturing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for H-1B sponsorship, making it a practical starting point for manufacturing roles in Nebraska. You can filter by industry and state to surface employers who have sponsored H-1B workers in manufacturing. Focusing on companies with engineering departments or technical operations in Omaha, Lincoln, and Grand Island tends to yield the most relevant results.
Are there any Nebraska-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in manufacturing?
Nebraska's manufacturing sector is heavily tied to food processing and agricultural equipment, industries that operate on tight production schedules and sometimes prefer to hire locally. However, facilities with engineering and technical functions do recruit nationally and internationally. The state does not impose any additional requirements beyond federal H-1B rules, but employers must still file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before petitioning USCIS.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B manufacturing jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
