Which companies sponsor visas for licensed practical nurses in Nebraska?
Nebraska Medicine, CHI Health, Bryan Health, and Good Samaritan Society are among the larger healthcare employers in Nebraska that have sponsored visa candidates for nursing roles. Long-term care chains operating across rural Nebraska also sponsor LPNs, particularly through staffing pipelines serving underserved communities. Sponsorship practices vary by facility and year, so confirming directly with employers during the hiring process is always recommended.
Which visa types are most common for licensed practical nurse roles in Nebraska?
The EB-3 immigrant visa is the most common pathway for internationally trained LPNs in Nebraska, as LPN roles are classified as skilled worker positions. The H-1B is generally not applicable because LPN positions do not typically meet the specialty occupation standard requiring a bachelor's degree. Some internationally educated nurses also enter through the TN visa if they are Canadian or Mexican citizens and hold qualifying credentials.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most licensed practical nurse sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the largest share of LPN sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of hospital systems and long-term care facilities. Lincoln is the second-largest market, with both Bryan Health and regional care networks actively hiring. Grand Island, Kearney, and Norfolk also have notable demand, particularly in skilled nursing facilities serving aging rural populations where domestic LPN supply is limited.
How to find licensed practical nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for internationally trained candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles in the United States. You can filter directly for licensed practical nurse positions in Nebraska to see employers actively open to sponsorship. Because LPN sponsorship often moves through EB-3 immigrant visa channels with longer timelines, starting your search early and identifying facilities with established sponsorship experience is especially important in this state.
Are there state-specific requirements that affect LPN visa sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska requires LPNs to hold a license issued by the Nebraska Board of Nursing, which means internationally educated nurses must have their credentials evaluated and pass the NCLEX-PN before practicing. This licensing step adds time to the overall sponsorship timeline and must typically be completed before or alongside the employer's visa petition process. Nebraska does participate in the Nurse Licensure Compact, which can simplify multi-state practice once licensed.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored licensed practical nurse jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
