We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
The Club at ArrowCreek is a private, 36-hole facility located in southwest Reno. The Legend and Challenge courses serve approximately 550 golf members and are open throughout the year as weather allows. In addition to daily member and guest play, the Golf Department manages a full schedule of tournaments, leagues, outside events, junior golf, instruction, retail operations, handicap administration, practice facilities, and a two-bay Golf Performance Center.
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Golf Professional who understands how a private-club golf operation should run. This position will be involved in the day-to-day operation of the Golf Shop and both golf courses, with regular responsibility for member service, staff direction, tournament support, administrative work, and player-development programs.
This is a working manager position. The person hired will be expected to be present, accessible, and willing to step into whatever area needs attention. The best fit will be someone who communicates well, follows through, supports the rest of the staff, and can make sound decisions without needing constant direction.
Primary Responsibilities
Golf Operations and Member Service
- Assist with the daily operation of the Golf Shop, Legend and Challenge tee sheets, and member and guest play.
- Make sure opening, closing, cash-control, and daily operating procedures are completed correctly.
- Monitor tee-sheet activity and help adjust staff coverage based on play, tournaments, weather, and other club activity.
- Provide professional and friendly service in person, by telephone, and by email.
- Handle routine member questions and concerns, and bring larger issues to the Head Golf Professional.
- Know and help communicate club policies regarding guests, carts, pace of play, dress code, practice facilities, tournaments, and general golf-course use.
- Coordinate with Guest Services, Player Assistants, Tee Hosts, Agronomy, Food and Beverage, Accounting, Membership, and other departments as needed.
Staff Leadership
- Provide daily direction to Golf Shop and frontline golf employees when assigned.
- Help staff understand their assignments, service expectations, and priorities for the day.
- Follow up on incomplete work and coach employees when standards are not being met.
- Communicate attendance, performance, conduct, and scheduling concerns to the appropriate department leader.
- Help create better communication and consistency between opening, mid-day, and closing shifts.
Tournaments, Leagues, and Programs
- Support the Tournament Director and professional staff with member tournaments, leagues, invitationals, club championships, guest days, home-and-home events, and outside groups.
- Assist with Golf Genius, registrations, pairings, scorecards, cart signs, starting, scoring, prizes, results, and post-event follow-up.
- Review upcoming events with the professional team so staffing, supplies, communication, and billing needs are handled in advance.
- Assist with junior golf, PGA Junior League, clinics, new-member orientation, and other member programs.
Golf Shop and Administration
- Complete point-of-sale transactions, member charges, tee-time and guest reservations, special orders, and daily reconciliation accurately.
- Assist the merchandising team with receiving, tagging, inventory, displays, special orders, and overall Golf Shop appearance.
- Help maintain accurate records and timely communication for tournaments, guest fees, cart fees, and other Golf Department activity.
- Use systems including ForeTees, Golf Genius, GHIN, Cap Patrol, point-of-sale software, and club communication platforms.
Instruction and Golf Technology
- Support lessons, clinics, club fitting, junior programming, and other player-development efforts based on experience and department needs.
- Learn and assist with the operation of the Golf Performance Center, including TrackMan, Foresight, and Sportsbox technology.
- Continue progressing through PGA education and represent the club professionally through section involvement, playing opportunities, and professional development.
Qualifications
- PGA of America Member or active PGA Associate in good standing and making steady progress through the PGA Program.
- Previous golf-operations experience; private-club experience is strongly preferred.
- Three or more years of progressively responsible golf-industry experience is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of the game, Rules of Golf, handicapping, golf etiquette, and pace-of-play procedures.
- Prior experience supervising employees, leading shifts, or taking ownership of an important part of a golf operation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
- Comfortable working with technology and learning new club and golf-management systems.
- Available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, tournaments, and other seasonal schedule demands.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Compensation and Opportunity
The annual salary for this position is $50,000. Benefits and other employment terms will be provided in accordance with The Club at ArrowCreek and Troon policies.

The person hired will have the opportunity to work with a large and active membership, two golf courses, a strong tournament calendar, growing junior programs, and modern teaching and club-fitting technology.
